MAFS fans point out bizarre detail in Eliot and Lauren's return: 'Unfair'

Married At First Sight fans were left baffled during Tuesday night’s episode when it was revealed that controversial groom Eliot Donovan had been given a second chance in the experiment. The 35-year-old business owner was originally paired with Lauren Hall, 37, but decided to quit on their honeymoon because he didn’t think they were compatible.

In a world-first for the reality show, both Eliot and Lauren have now re-entered the experiment as intruders with brand new partners. Eliot has been paired with 32-year-old actor Veronica Cloherty, while Lauren has tied the knot with 43-year-old pro golfer Clint Rice.

Although fans are thrilled Lauren has been given a second chance in the experiment after her first experience was cut short, many people have argued that Katie Johnstone should’ve been given the same opportunity.

Similar to Lauren, Katie had a disastrous experience on the show when she was paired with Tim Gromie and he quickly confessed that he wasn’t his type because he’s into “petite blondes”. Tim then decided not to move in with Katie after their honeymoon, and they ended up writing ‘leave’ at the first commitment ceremony.

Fans demand Katie's return

Viewers took to social media during Tuesday night’s episode to question why Eliot was brought back over Katie, with one person writing: “He doesn’t deserve another chance, it should have been Katie.”

“If anyone deserves a second chance, it’s Katie,” another agreed, while a third said, “Why y’all wouldn't bring Katie back over this man is crazy”.

“They gave him a new start but not Katie? Boo,” someone else shared, followed by a different user who said, “Why is Eliot being rewarded? If anything it should be Katie”.

“Poor Katie doesn’t get another chance, she gets an absolute tool and yet this tool who is equally as shallow does?” another remarked.

Meanwhile, others speculated that it might have been Katie’s decision not to return after a tumultuous experience with Tim.

“Everyone saying they didn’t give Katie a chance, maybe she didn’t want to go back on,” one fan wrote, with another commenting, “I wish they had brought her back but MAFS needs the drama and views as we know Eliot is perfect for that”.
