The Wiggles’ Anthony Field and Jeff Fatt have shut down a hilarious rumour about the beloved children’s group at the 2024 Logie Awards. While attending the event at The Star, Sydney on Sunday evening, the duo told Yahoo Lifestyle on the red carpet about the craziest piece of gossip they’ve ever heard about themselves.

“There was a rumour that Jeff is actually not with us, and he was replaced by a lookalike,” Anthony shared. “It's not true, but there was a rumour going around on the internet. And there's been a rumour about three or four times that I've died. And I haven’t.”

Jeff added that it’s “quite interesting” how the rumour about himself began, joking: “I don’t know how it happens. Maybe because they see me the way I am - I’m pretty close to it!”

Meanwhile, Murray Cook told Yahoo Lifestyle that there was a big rumour around The Wiggles in the ‘90s that he finally wants to clear up.

“I don’t know if people remember, but there used to be a band in the ‘90s called TISM and they wore masks and stuff, and there was a rumour going around that we were TISM,” he detailed. “It's not true, but we put the rumour around a bit - and so did they! I met some of them and they said they continued it on.”

The Wiggles, whose documentary Hot Potato: The Story of The Wiggles was nominated for Best Factual or Documentary Program, have become well known for spilling secrets on the Logies red carpet.

Last year Anthony Field told Yahoo Lifestyle that he wasn’t always meant to be the ‘Blue Wiggle’ and he originally wore a green skivvy.

“I was green!” he revealed. “And we had a green screen and I didn't have a body, so they put me in blue. So I was green originally.”

Meanwhile, Anthony’s daughter Lucia, who joined the group in 2022 as the second ‘Blue Wiggle’, admitted that blue is her preference.

“Blue is actually my favourite colour, and it just so happens that I'm now in blue,” she said.

Simon Pryce added that despite being the ‘Red Wiggle’, he doesn’t tend to wear a lot of red when going out.
