The nominations for the 2024 Logie Awards have been announced, revealing a surprising detail about the Australian TV landscape. While TV’s night of nights has historically recognised the biggest shows on free-to-air television, this year marks the first time streaming platforms have made a significant impact on the list of nominees.

Shows from Netflix, Prime Video, Stan, Binge, Disney+ and Paramount+ make up exactly 25 per cent of this year’s nominees, with Netflix’s Boy Swallows Universe earning a whopping 10 nominations to become this year’s most recognised program. Meanwhile, Prime Video’s The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart and Deadloch each received four and three nominations, respectively, while Stan scored seven nominations across six different shows.

Meanwhile, ABC is the big winner for free-to-air TV, receiving 50 nominations across all categories except three. Seven scored 18 nominations, with Logies favourite Home and Away only being recognised in the Most Popular New Talent category, while Nine received 15 and Ten got 8 - half of which are in the reality TV categories.

Looking at the Gold Logie nominees, Asher Keddie has become the first person to be nominated based on their work on a streaming platform. The actress, who starred in Binge’s Strife last year, has been nominated six times in total and previously won the biggest award of the night in 2013.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! host Robert Irwin has also made history, becoming the youngest male nominated for the Gold Logie at just 20 years old. However, Kylie Minogue was 19 when she won the award in 1988 and Delta Goodrem was also 19 when nominated in 2004.
