Scott Cam's stunning admission about The Block's 'flirting scandal': 'Biting my tongue'
The Block's host Scott Cam has made a major confession about the dramatic events that led to Kylie and Brad quitting the show.
The Block has definitely become known for its drama as much as its drilling (not a euphemism) but this season has really taken the cake. From one team abruptly quitting a few weeks to another fleeing the scene at the finish line, it's a wonder that anyone was able to finish a house!
But finish them they have, with the auction set to take place this Saturday and the grand finale to air Sunday. One team who is suspected to be missing from the big event will be Kylie and Brad of House 4, who decided to head home after Brad was caught flirting with fellow contestant Mimi from House 5.
Host Scott Cam spoke about the rollercoaster of events Nova's Fitzy and Wippa, admitting that perhaps there was more he and the show producers could have done to keep everyone in line.
Scott Cam's stunning admission
"This would have to be one of the most controversial seasons that we've had on The Block, because we do have some flirting going on between a couple of couples and we've had a couple who have broken up and basically built a whole house just to leave the show," said Fitzy.

"I don't remember when there has been such controversy on TV. Scotty, it's been a real juggernaut of emotions, hasn't it?" added Wippa.
"You know, it's an organic show... we sort of put 8, 9 or 10 cameras on the ground and leave everyone to their own devices, but this year, we probably should have wrangled them a bit better," Scotty replied.
He continued, "It's a very lucrative show, I think that contestants are changing these days. I definitely at times was biting my tongue, I try and keep everybody happy throughout the series. I'd like to keep everybody there to the end. Unfortunately, that didn't happen this year."
Scotty certainly showed incredible composure during one of Kylie and Brad's last appearances, after Kylie stormed off the set and said "I hate this man [Scott] so much."
The harsh words came after she told the long-time TV host to "wrap it up" as he was giving her and Brad feedback on their front yard.
"Kylie, I’m not going to wrap it up because this is part of the deal, unfortunately. I’m reading out feedback, the last feedback from the judges that you’re going to get on your houses so I’d really appreciate if you didn’t tell me to wrap it up," he responded.
"I really couldn’t care," she hit back.
What happened between Brad and Mimi?
Brad admitted to flirting with Mimi after a night of drinking with the father-of-four admitting that he “said some pretty inappropriate comments."
“I was flirting with Mimi, Kylie overheard them and very understandably, she’s quite upset," he said.
Viewers were then shown footage of Brad and Mimi chatting and drinking on House 5’s basketball court at 9:02pm while their respective partners Kylie and Kristian had a conversation nearby.
Brad, Mimi and Kylie then shared a bottle of wine at 10:07pm after Mimi asked if they could continue hanging out before Kylie fell asleep on an air mattress around 11:47pm and the pair continued talking.
Although she remained tightlipped in her own piece-to-camera interview about the comments Brad had made, saying she heard “things that made [her] feel very unhappy”, Kylie shared more details about the incident while on the phone with her mum.
“So what sort of things were they saying?” Kylie’s mum asked, to which she responded, “Oh Brad’s like, ‘You know I’d follow your OnlyFans’.
“I actually feel disgusted, and how little I mean to him is sad.
Are Mimi and Kylie still friends?
Despite all of the drama, Mimi and Kylie and their respective spouses were recently spotted hanging out with fellow cast mates Courtney and Grant and Maddy and Charlotte at the Melbourne Cup.
Additionally, on a recent episode of A Current Affair, Mimi said she "still has a lot of love for Kylie and it's reciprocated, and we've all come out the other end."
Mimi also recently spoke out about the hate she received after the flirting incident, writing a lengthy post on Instagram in which she reminded people that no one is perfect and that mistakes give us the opportunity to learn from them.

“As much as I try to avoid hurtful and hateful comments, I’ll read a few and it upsets me but I guess that’s the aim of the author. I found myself deleting all of the bad comments because I didn’t want anyone, including myself, to see them,” she wrote.
“But what I’ve come to realise is that removing them doesn’t show a true representation of the world that we live in. By keeping all of the positive and negative comments, it shows that nobody is perfect, everybody makes mistakes and we all say things driven by emotion.”
