Nicole Kidman is leading the Aussie charge in nominations for the 2025 Golden Globe Awards, with the Australian actress being nominated for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture (drama) for her high-ranking CEO Romy Mathis role in Babygirl.

Nicole will be up against Pamela Anderson (The Last Showgirl), Angelina Jolie (Maria), Tilda Swinton (The Room Next Door), Fernanda Torres (I'm Still Here), and Kate Winslet (Lee), with the awards taking place Sunday, January 5, 2025.

Babygirl sees Nicole's character Romy explore the complexities of sexuality and power dynamics as she embarks on a torrid affair with an intern who is significantly younger than her. Babygirl is due to hit Australian cinemas at the end of January 2025.

It's the 17th Golden Globe nomination for Nicole, with the star saying she's "incredibly grateful".

“To be still relevant in this world and this industry, working on the films that I love, feels wonderful. And to be in such an unusual film that still hasn’t been released we needed these things, and we’re grateful for it," Nicole told Hollywood Reporter.

Nicole stands in good company, with friends Cate Blanchett and Naomi Watts also up for gongs in the television category competing against each other for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a limited series.
