Liam Payne's net worth and haunting vow to his son Bear before his death
The One Direction singer shared a son, Bear, with ex-girlfriend Cheryl Cole.
Fans around the world have been left shocked and heartbroken after police in Argentina confirmed the death of One Direction member Liam Payne. The singer was just 31 when he died after falling from a third-floor balcony on Wednesday afternoon.
Police were called before the incident and found him dead. They confirmed his death with a statement that read: "Liam James Payne, composer and guitarist, former member of the band One Direction, died today after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Palermo."

Liam Payne's net worth
Liam Payne's net worth is believed to be a little over $A104 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
After One Direction went on indefinite hiatus in 2016, Liam's net worth likely took a slight dip, however, with his solo singing career, writing and producing for other artists, and partnerships with brands such as Hugo Boss, he was able to build quite the fortune.
The singer's first solo single, 'Strip That Down,' peaked at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Liam produced songs for Cheryl Cole, with whom he would go on to welcome son Bear, now seven. Throughout his career, he also worked with artists such as Juicy J, Miguel, Pharrell Williams and Wiz Khalifa.
In 2021, Liam sold his home in Monte Nido, California for $A13.1m, with the singer believing it to be haunted. Pop singer Halsey purchased the home from him.
The house featured a guesthouse, a recording studio, a pool, waterfalls, a meditation house and more.
Following his split from Cheryl, Liam also sold his $12.3m house in Surrey, England. The Georgian-style home had five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a swimming pool, soccer pitch and tennis court.
Liam's vow to son Bear: 'My life is now his'
During an appearance on Logan Paul's Impaulsive podcast two years ago, Liam spoke about his son Bear, who was five at the time, saying that his money is for his son.
"My life now is his, my money is his. I have actually got several companies that are up and running that I know he can run one day if he wants to or [he can sell them]," he said.
He also described Cheryl, who he co-parents with, as "the best mum in the world".
Liam said that he and Cheryl remain friends, and she gives him "full autonomy" to be able to do what he does, with the singer saying, "At the same time, I know [Bear is being] taken care of [by her]."
Liam Payne's cause of death
Authorities have released a statement about Liam's cause of death, with Alberto Crescenti, head of the Buenos Aires’ public emergency medical services saying Liam fell around '14 metres', suffering 'very serious injuries incompatible with life'.
“At 17:04, through 911, the integrated public security system, we were alerted about a person who was in an internal courtyard of the Casa Sur hotel. At 17:11, a team arrived and confirmed the man’s death,” he said. “We later learned that he was a singer in a musical group. Unfortunately, he had injuries incompatible with life as a result of his fall, so we had to confirm his death. There was no possibility of resuscitation."
Pablo Policicchio, the spokesperson for the Security Ministry of Buenos Aires municipality, said in a statement to The Associated Press that Payne police were dispatched to the hotel in response to an emergency call about an “aggressive man who could be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.” Arriving police heard a thud and found Payne's body in the hotel courtyard, Policicchio said.
