Prince William and Princess Catherine have released their annual family Christmas card, with the royal couple choosing a touching photo of them with their three children to adorn the festive greeting. The picture shows the Prince and Princess of Wales smiling with Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince George, 6.

Many royal fans noticed the photo was from a video statement released earlier in the year, in which Kate announced she had completed chemotherapy. The Princess revealed she had been diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer in March.

"Wishing you a very happy Christmas and New Year," the card, which was posted to the Wales' official Instagram account read. The reel was then captioned, "Wishing everyone a very happy Christmas 🎄."

"Perfect Christmas card for everyone who watched the video ❤️," one royals fan wrote. "Have a blessed and healthy celebration."

In the video, Catherine describes the "relief" of completing her treatment while describing the difficulties her family had faced since her diagnosis.

"The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown," she says in a voiceover. "The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you.

"With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything," she continues. "This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved."

In November, Prince William spoke of the struggles his family has experienced, addressing reporters in Cape Town during the Earthshot Prize Ceremony.

William described 2024 as "dreadful" going on to say it has been "the hardest year in my life."

"But I'm so proud of my wife, I'm proud of my father, for handling the things that they have done," the Prince of Wales said, adding, "From a personal family point of view, it's been, yeah, it's been brutal."
