Jessica Simpson Fans Think She Looks Like A Completely Different Person In New Photo
Jessica Simpson’s fans felt an irresistible urge to comment on her latest Instagram post.
Earlier this week, the “I Wanna Love You Forever” singer posted a photo of herself in a studio working on a new album.
“I can’t wait for y’all to hear the soundtrack of my soul,” Simpson wrote.
But fans were less amped about new music and more focused on how different the “Newlyweds” alum looked.
“I don’t even recognize this person,” one fan wrote in the comments.
“Girl who is this?” echoed another.
Many in the comments felt she looked more like Paris Hilton or Ivanka Trump — with one saying she looked like she belonged to another famous family.
“I didn’t know there was a Jessica Kardashian,” a commenter quipped.
Another fan likened Simpson’s new look to “Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum Kim Zolciak.
“Does it feature your hit single ‘Tardy for the Party?’” the commenter joked.
This isn’t the first time the fashion mogul has been mistaken for another celebrity. Last year, she joked about how a fan mistook her for another early aughts pop star.
“The face when someone in the parking lot at the mall asks you for your autograph, but expects you to sign it Britney Spears,” she wrote on X, formerly Twitter, alongside a photo of her and her daughter Maxwell making exaggerated shocked facial expressions.
And although it’s tempting for fans to call out a celebrity for changes in their appearance, Simpson has experienced an unfair amount of scrutiny throughout her career.
In 2009, pictures of her performing at Radio 99.9 Kiss Country’s annual Chili Cookoff went viral online, and she was mercilessly body-shamed by the media and fans. At the time, she was a size 4.
“This picture that circulated and went worldwide broke my heart. Not the picture necessarily, but the caption. Like, all the captions. It was just viral,” she told “Today” in 2020. “I was taken down by the world.”
Since then, she’s been steadily criticized for her fluctuating weight.
Last year, Simpson opened up about how criticisms about her appearance have affected her — and wondered why people even feel the need to comment on it.
“We need to focus on our mentality about even talking about weight,” she said in an interview with Access Hollywood. “I think it just doesn’t need to be a conversation.”
