Suri Cruise Looked Like a Mini Katie Holmes in Jeans and a Festive Puffer Coat
The student becomes the master.
Having the G.O.A.T. of street style as a mom means Suri Cruise is destined to inherit good fashion genes—I mean, it's just basic biology. After all, impeccable OOTDs are practically Cruise's blood thanks to her mother Katie Holmes's collection of baggy jeans and very good coats.
On Wednesday, the 18-year-old Carnegie Mellon University student was spotted in New York City on her way to catch her famous mom's performance in Our Town on Broadway. For the outing, it looked as if Cruise had gone shopping in her mother's closet in an olive green puffer coat with an exaggerated collar, slouchy blue jeans, and Converse sneakers. She accessorized with a black choker and a brown leather tote bag, one of Holmes's favorite bag styles. Her shiny brunette hair was worn straight and parted down the middle.
Wednesday also marked Holmes's 46th birthday, and in addition to supporting her mom from the Broadway audience, Cruise also gifted Holmes with a sweet gesture. On Wednesday, the actress shared a photo of beautiful purple roses on her Instagram Story with the caption, "I am so grateful for all of my blessings 💕 especially my daughter 🌷."
Holmes was also spotted on Wednesday in a similar jacket and jeans outfit. For her part, Holmes opted for a black peacoat accented by a gold belt around her midsection. She finished off the ensemble with black boots, a matching beanie, a tote bag, and sunglasses.
This isn't the first time Cruise has taken a sartorial page out of Holmes's book. In October, the mother-daughter duo stepped out in a couple of statement coats—a camel trench for Holmes and a sherpa-lined jean jacket for Cruise. Earlier this year, the student attended her senior year prom in a corset dress with an asymmetric hemline that was reminiscent of something Holmes would have worn in the '90s. Over the summer, she channeled Holmes's Dawson's Creek character Joey Potter in a pair of short denim overalls.
