Aldi shoppers left outraged over 'disgusting' $5 product swap: 'Why?'

Aldi shoppers aren't happy about a fan-fave product being 'discontinued' after noticing the Vietnamese-style spring rolls had been replaced by the divisive cheeseburger-flavoured ones. One unhappy shopper took to a popular Aldi Facebook group to ask why the retailer was no longer stocking the spring rolls and encouraged other buyers to call Aldi and ask for them back.

"Just why?!" they said. "They’ve discontinued the Vietnamese ones?! Hoping those who also loved the Vietnamese style will also call Aldi and ask them to revisit their ludicrous choices on this!"

The general consensus for Aldi shoppers is that the cheeseburger spring rolls aren't worth your $4.99.

"These are foul," one person simply stated. "Boycott, do not buy the cheeseburger-flavoured ones!" another said.

"I was so excited to try these and my whole family agreed they were disgusting," someone else reviewed. "Seriously, why would anyone put Western food into Eastern food? Soooo incorrect!" another person said.

Other shoppers weren't fearing just yet for the Vietnamese spring rolls, assuming they'd be back on shelves soon enough.

"They seem to rotate them around. One or the other available at a time. They should come back," one person commented.

"They seem to go back and forth with the two flavours. Vietnamese are our fave too," someone else agreed. "Although, I’ve noticed the cheeseburger ones have now been on the shelf a lot longer than usual. I hope that doesn’t mean they are permanent. I also don’t like these."

Someone also theorised that the swapping between the two products was seasonal.

"They are seasonal. So half the year we have the Vietnamese and the other half the cheeseburger," they stated. "I also don’t like the cheeseburger flavour."
