Larry Emdur hits back at claims he's been 'arrested twice' since Logies announcement
"I’ll be running the rest of my Logies campaign from prison."
Larry Emdur has taken to Instagram to poke fun at fake ads featuring Photoshopped images of himself being arrested. Since being nominated for the Gold Logie on Sunday, the Morning Show host has seen two of the fake ads, which led him to share them on Instagram and jokingly accuse fellow Gold Logie nominee Tony Armstrong of being behind the fake images.
"According to the internet it looks like I’ve been arrested twice since Sunday’s Logie announcement," Larry wrote. "I refuse to give in! I’ll be running the rest of my Logies campaign from prison. I know you are behind this @tonaaayy."

The Morning Show's Larry Emdur stunned by on-air slip: 'Can you not?'
In the photos, Larry is seen being taken away by two policemen, with the caption reading, "Larry's media career over."
Funnily, they'd also spelled his surname wrong in the subheading, which read, "Edmure didn't know that his mic. was... [sic]."
Larry's famous friends and followers were quick to share their condolences, with David Campbell writing, "Showbiz is a wild ride buddy. Can I bring you a cake with a file?"
"I’ll come and break you out mate! Standby standby…" Ant Middleton added.
"This is like the 10th time you've been arrested and cancelled this year 😱 You're certainly an overachiever @larryemdur," one follower wrote.
"The spelling of 'Edmure' makes it even better," another said.
"The Internet never lies," a third added.
"Omg can I take my vote back," someone else joked.
"Taking 'The Chase' quite literally there mate 😂," another said, poking fun at Larry's other hosting role on The Chase Australia.
'Unfair advantage'
It comes after an insider told Yahoo Lifestyle who may be likely to take out the Gold Logie later this year.
Former winners Asher Keddie and Sonia Kruger each received a nod alongside previous nominees Julia Morris and Andy Lee and first-timers Tony Armstrong, Robert Irwin and, of course, Larry.
A source tells Yahoo Lifestyle that Sonia Kruger could win for a second year in a row simply because the Logies airs on Channel Seven and she has an “unfair advantage” as one of the network’s most prominent stars.
“There was so much exposure on Channel Seven for Sonia in the lead-up to the 2023 Logie Awards and that really helped them get that win across the line,” the insider tells us.
“The fact that Sonia hosted the official red carpet coverage prior to the awards while the voting lines were still open was certainly perceived to be a considerable pledge to her connecting with audiences in a way that none of the other nominees on opposing networks were afforded.”

The source adds that The Morning Show host Larry Emdur also has a good chance of winning the award because “the network bias is too hard to ignore”.
“Sonia and Larry will both be heavily promoted on Seven’s morning shows which are the top-rated in the country, so you can see how that will also affect the outcome,” they point out.
