Julian Edelman is all in on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's relationship — for a "selfish" reason.

"I think it's awesome! He's balling," Edelman, 38, tells PEOPLE. "And in his personal life he's doing his personal life."

But aside from seeing the Chiefs star and superstar songstress, both 35, find happiness in the spotlight, Edelman — wearing a friendship bracelet he says his daughter Lily made for him — admits, "I think it's awesome because my daughter talks about football all the time because of Taylor Swift. So, selfishly, I like it for that reason."

Before Swift began dating Kelce in 2023, Edelman says Lily, 8, "went to games" but "would never talk to me about football."

"It sucks to have to hear about the Chiefs all the time, and she's got Patriot blood in her veins — literally born during a Super Bowl day in there," Edelman says with a laugh, adding, "I guess it is what it is."

Edelman, who's helping Angel Soft make their Super Bowl debut on Sunday, also tells PEOPLE he's not surprised that Kelce and the Chiefs have returned to the big game for the third year in a row. "What people don't realize is the playoffs, when you get to this point of the season, it's not the team that makes the most plays, it's the team that makes the least amount of mistakes, and they've proven that all year long."

"They control the ball, they don't turn the ball over, they don't have dumb penalties," Edelman says of Kelce and Co.

"They do all the right things. And if you do that, 98% of the time you're going to win because the other team's going to make a mistake. So as long as they continue to play mistake-free, it's going to be hard to beat them."

But most importantly, Edelman wants to encourage fans to be just as strategic about their bathroom breaks as the Chiefs are about their game plan. "We're all glued to the TV for obviously the football game and then we all want to see the Super Bowl ads, but there's never any time to go use the restroom."

To celebrate the 2025 Super Bowl and his partnership with Angel Soft, Edelman made a hilarious video about a bathroom break gone wrong.

"As you could see the live footage from that commercial on the NFC championship, that was actually real," Edelman jokes. "That was right before the NFC championship. It was gnarly. Thank God I had Angel Soft to get me through it, and that's why I chose to work with them."
