Jackie O undergoes spontaneous body modification during overseas trip: 'Gangster'

She surprised listeners on Monday morning when she announced she had quietly flown to Europe over the weekend, and now Jackie ‘O’ Henderson has made another spontaneous decision. The 49-year-old radio host, who is currently in London with her best friend Gemma O’Neill, shared a series of Instagram Stories on Thursday documenting her experience getting her first tattoo.

Jackie and Gemma previously told their followers that they had promised themselves to “create a new experience” and do something they wouldn’t normally do while staying in the UK’s capital city. After attending a trapeze class on day one and eating at a ‘cheese sushi train’ the following day, the pair decided their next adventure would be to get inked.

“Gemma’s had another idea, a new experience, where we’re looking at getting a tattoo,” she shared. “So we’re going into a tattoo shop now.”

Jackie then explained that they both had a “rough idea” of what they were going to get, however, they planned on getting a temporary tattoo first to see whether they liked it.

“We are their most annoying customers,” she wrote alongside a video of them speaking with the receptionist about stencils.

Eventually, after learning that they wouldn’t be able to swim for four weeks after getting a real tattoo, the pair sat down with a tattoo artist to get stencils printed on them.

What was Jackie's tattoo?

Gemma was the first to get her tattoo and decided to get ‘My whole heart’ printed in cursive writing on her right foot. She realised soon after that the cursive letters made it look like ‘My whale heart’, but she still went ahead with the stencil anyway because she “loves whales”.

Meanwhile, Jackie chose to get a small hummingbird and the word ‘trust’ written next to it on her right wrist.

“You look really gangster right now for a tattoo because you’ve got your leather jacket on,” Gemma remarked as the tattoo artist presented her with the finished product.

Kyle slams 'ridiculous' tattoo

Jackie spoke about her fresh ink on The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Thursday morning, with her co-host Kyle Sandilands immediately calling it “ridiculous” and a “stupid b***h idea”.

“A tramp stamp,” he remarked when Jackie told him she had gotten it on her wrist. “A little advert for a bit of a rat, that’s what that is.”

Jackie then explained that she and her daughter Kitty had always planned to get matching hummingbird tattoos when she turned 18, so the design was sentimental.

“Can I tell you, mum and daughter matching tats, that’s not cool,” Kyle said. “You’re supposed to talk her out of that s**t.”

“No I don’t mind,” Jackie replied. “It’s gonna be little. We’ve kind of figured out what she’s gonna do anyway when she turns 18.”
