Sophie Monk sparks engagement rumours with huge ring

Engagement rumours continue to swirl around Sophie Monk, 39, and her boyfriend Joshua Gross after the blonde beauty was spotted wearing a large ring in a video she shared on Instagram on Wednesday.

The Love Island host was sporting what appeared to be a gold band featuring a central diamond surrounded by a ring of smaller stones in the hilarious clip which saw her promoting her beauty line, MCoBeauty.

The sparkler didn’t go unnoticed by the former Bachelorette star’s 550k followers, who were quick to assume the bling meant wedding bells were on the horizon.

“Engaged?” enquired one fan.

“Ok has to be said, ring on that finger in your story????” added another.

“Engaged!!!!!” exclaimed one.

Sophie and Joshua’s engagement buzz

The former pop star and her beau have yet to make any public comment on their relationship, beyond the fact that they are totally smitten with one another.

Furthermore, Sophie appears to be wearing the bling in question on the ring finger of her right hand, instead of her left hand as per tradition.

But it’s not the first time the multi-talented Aussie has been spotted wearing the ring, with it first appearing when the couple flew to Fiji for Sophie’s stint on Love Island season two back in October.

The ring’s presence in almost all of Sophie and Joshua’s social media posts in the following months has done nothing to quell engagement rumours, with fans peppering both of the pair’s accounts with suggestive comments.

On October 13, Joshua shared a stunning snap of his lady love wearing an orange bikini with the caption, “Can I officially call myself an Instagram boyfriend now?” which prompted one of his followers to remark, “Insta Husband sounds so much better”.

“We need a ring, wedding and lots of beautiful babies ASAP,” another commented on a separate post, while one wrote, “Hurry up and put a ring on it!!!”

Sophie has been engaged at least twice before, first to Benji Madden of the band Good Charlotte and then multi-millionaire businessman Jesse Esberg. She was also previously linked to Aussie actor Sam Worthington and American TV personality Ryan Seacrest.

Most recently, Sophie appeared to find ‘the one’ in wealthy publican Stu Laundy during the 2017 season of The Bachelorette, but the pair split just a few months after the show’s finale.

Who is Joshua Gross?

Joshua Gross is a 40-year-old marketing executive who used to be based in the US but relocated to live with Sophie on the Gold Coast in May this year.

He’s also a keen photographer, sharing many snaps of his gorgeous girlfriend on his Instagram account.

The smitten pair first met on an international flight in 2018 after being seated next to each other and striking up a conversation over champagne.

The two shared an instant connection and even a kiss, with Sophie telling Stellar magazine in September that Joshua is well and truly “the one”.

“If he’s out, I give up, I really do,” she said, revealing that she was waiting for him to pop the question.

“I keep asking him, I don’t think it’s too far off. He said to me I should ask him, but no. I want for the rest of my life to know he asked me … even though I’m asking him to ask me,” she told the magazine.

Joshua was by Sophie’s side when she underwent surgery for endometriosis in December 2018, after which she revealed she’d frozen some of her eggs.

The love birds are now back on Aussie soil after returning from Fiji where Sophie wrapped Love Island in mid-November.
