Sophie Monk reveals why boyfriend Joshua Gross isn't like her exes

Her ex Stu Laundy has been making headlines after his appearance in a video which featured the use of a suspicious substance.

But Sophie Monk is paying no attention to the Bachelorette star and enjoying a quiet life with her handsome new boyfriend Joshua Gross.

“I don’t even check news about myself much online so I haven’t really paid attention to [Stu], to be honest,” she tells Yahoo Lifestyle. “I’m glad I don’t have to deal with it. I don’t really know what to say about [his video scandal].”

Indeed, the Love Island host admits to Yahoo Lifestyle that she couldn’t be happier with the Los Angeles-based marketing executive.

“He’s awesome. Everything’s so good,” she gushes. “I was saying to him, ‘There’s no headline in this relationship, it’s just perfect’. He’s no drama, everything is so smooth and awesome…

“It’s so great that he lives overseas because he doesn’t really look at anything being written about us. We don’t pay any attention to it.”

While the pair are having to work around the long distance, Sophie admits it has just made their bond so much stronger.

“I would love to live together, but it is what it is. In a way we talk so much more than a regular couple. Our relationship is so much deeper than others because we are just talking to each other all the time,” she explains. “You really get to know each other completely because there’s no games when someone lives overseas.”

And luckily for the Huawei & the Mate20 Pro brand ambassador, her new phone’s long-lasting battery power means the pair can talk on the phone at all hours without worrying about the need to charge it every hour.

“I’m on the phone all the time because Josh lives overseas. Before I would have backup headphones charged and always have a portable charger. It’s why the Huawei is awesome for me because it has 48-hour battery power,” she explains.

The star admits she is one of the 83% of Aussies who experience negative emotional symptoms when their phone runs out of battery and adds she needs to carry her phone with her at all times.

“I need it for all the important things… it’s my best friend, my phone,” she jokes. “I could not live without it. I would definitely swap over sex for my phone if I had to choose for the rest of my life.”
