Aldi shoppers are raving about $40 summer must-have

Christmas Day may be over, but it doesn't mean treating yourself has to be. During the lead-up to the festive day, Aldi shoppers were racing to get their hands on a Special Buys item and given its popularity we have no doubt it'll be back on shelves as an essential summer product.

With Australia currently being in that blissful state between Christmas and New Years — the classic time when no one is 100% sure of the day, time, or their name and with the lazy summer days of the beach, pool, beers, and leftovers stretched out in front of us — there's been no better time to pack an esky and laze like a lizard in the sun (responsibly of course).

Enter Aldi's special buys cooler box, which is not only an efficient way to be transporting all your drinks and snacks, but they're just so goddamn cute too, making you the most fashionable esky holder down at the local beach (or river or dam or whatever body of water is near you).

Aldi shoppers rave about $40 summer special buy

The 20L retro cooler box was flying off the Aldi shelves before Christmas, with the item undoubtedly a popular addition to any Christmas and Boxing Day festivities.

"I purchased two of these little cooler boxes. Fantastic quality, light, and let’s face it they look super fun and cute! Would definitely recommend!" one happy shopper posted in an Aldi group. "I tested it would fit a good six bottles of wine plus ice, you know the important things."

Six bottles of wine? You've sold us already.

"So cute," one person commented, with someone else backing up the claim that the cooler boxes are easy to carry. "They are nice and light too so easy to carry. Some esky’s are so heavy before you even put anything in," they said.

"They are so cute!! Swap the lids over and even cuter," one person suggested. "The strap is fantastic and love the colours.... reminds me of a 50s kitchen colour," someone else said.

However, not all shoppers were lucky, with many remarking that their local Aldis had sold out before they had a chance to snap up one for themselves.

"I saw these yesterday. Went back a few hours later and just about sold out! There were some really nice colours too," one unlucky person said. "I went to 2 different Aldi stores to find them, they sold out very quick," another commented.
