After two heart-pounding seasons of Hunted Australia, viewers are eagerly awaiting the return of Australia’s most thrilling reality TV show. Channel 10 is yet to announce a premiere date for the fan-favourite series, however, it’s been revealed that season three will feature a major twist.

The game will begin with nine pairs of everyday Australians, aka the Fugitives, trying to pull off a bank robbery with $1 million up for grabs before hitting the road with whatever they can steal. If they can spend 20 days evading the highly skilled group of Hunters attempting to locate and capture them, they get to keep the cash.

Ahead of the show’s highly-anticipated return, fans have already begun discussing which team they will be rooting for. One viewer shared a post in a popular Facebook group dedicated to the series this week asking whether people plan on supporting the Hunters or the Fugitives.

While viewers might be expected to support the Fugitives on their quest to evade capture, almost half of the people who commented said they would be cheering for the Hunters.

“It would be good to see the Hunters win,” one person wrote, while another added, “Hunters FTW”.

“It's all about the Fugitives evading capture, but in the minutes leading up to it I love watching the chase unfold,” a third shared.

“Hunters, but I may be biased,” wrote Gerard Simpfendorfer, whose brother Graeme is the show’s Lead Intelligence Hunter.

Meanwhile, a majority of people said they are proudly ‘Team Fugitives’ and hope the contestants manage to outwit the Hunters and make it to the end.

“It's hard to decide [but] I would probably say Fugitives,” a fan commented, followed by season two competitor Bayan Massoudi who replied, “Fugitives obviously”.

“Always the Fugitives. However, I wouldn’t mind being captured by either Jason, Ben or Kelli - those three are my favourite Hunters,” someone else remarked.

“Fugitives. It's funny to laugh at the Hunters running around holding a camera,” a different user commented, with another writing, “Always the Fugitives, the Hunters are too cocky and full of themselves”.

The official cast for season three has not yet been released, although Channel 10 has confirmed there will be nine teams of two like last year.

The Geelong Advertiser published photos in February of a group of unnamed contestants dressed in dark clothing surrounded by camera operators in Geelong, Victoria. Producers were reportedly yelling instructions to the contestants, and helicopters were also spotted flying over the area.
