Home chef's 'genius' kitchen hack sends fellow cooks wild: 'Oh my gosh this is brilliant'
The trick is perfect for anyone with limited counter space.
If you've ever cooked a meal using a recipe from a cookbook, you'll know all too well how annoying it can be to keep the page open where you need it and in a place where you can easily see it. From getting food-covered fingers all over the pages to the struggle of keeping a new book open with the recipe you need, there is a very good reason that a nifty little invention called a cookbook stand came to be.
But what if you are someone who doesn't own such a device or perhaps lacks the counter space to house one? One person in a popular cooking group might just have the perfect solution and the best part is, you probably already have the item required for the hack in your home.
Sharing her workaround online, the home cook posted a photo of a cookbook suspended above her kitchen counter by way of a metal clip hanger, typically used for pants or skirts. The beauty of the hack is that the cookbook is at eye level, unlike a traditional cookbook stand which requires you to look down at it.
The clips also cleverly hold the pages open where you need them and negate the need to potentially get food stains on the book as you flip to the recipe page with flour/sugar/oil/etc on your hands.

The post was met with plenty of appreciation as fellow group members expressed their intention to try the trick themselves.
"My book has got wet the last two nights, despite my best efforts. I said I needed a stand but this is great.. although, I still have none," one person wrote.
"This is brilliant!!" another said while someone else added, "OMG this is brilliant, thanks for sharing."
"Genius," yet another wrote.
"Oh my gosh this is brilliant. I have the smallest kitchen in the universe!" said a different home cook.
"This is great. A plate stand could work too," another suggested.
Other people described the hack as "awesome", "nifty" and "clever."

In the comments, the original poster explained that the genius idea had not been hers saying, "It was another lady's idea. I had to try it and it’s great! My almost 6-year-old and I could easily follow the recipe and it was so much fun! Family loved this recipe & no little prints on the pages."
