Home and Away's Matt Evans 'unrecognisable' in throwback snap: 'Suits you'
The Summer Bay star had long hair as a teenager.
Matt Evans is best known for his ongoing role as Theo Poulos on Home and Away and his short stint on The Voice in 2020. The star, 25, has kept his curly brown hair short since his first TV appearance.
Fans were surprised when the musician shared a snap from when he was just 19 years old, and many thought he looked completely different. Before his first appearance on TV, the star actually had hair that reached his shoulders.
“Cannot believe my hair looked like this,” Matt wrote on his Instagram story, followed by a laughing emoji.
In the photo, the actor has his hair loose and wears an open white button-down shirt over a plain white t-shirt. He stands next to a friend and both hold red plastic cups.
In Matt’s left hand, he is seen holding a cheap box of Golden Oak wine, commonly referred to as a ‘goon bag’.

He then shared a screenshot of a conversation he had with his co-star Adam Rowland, who plays Lyrik band member Remi Carter on Home and Away.
“The goon bag does it for me!” Adam replied to Matt’s story.
“Yes @adam.rowland, I was 19 and drank goon because I was broke,” Matt fired back.
Fans went wild over the throwback picture on social media, with many saying they loved the way it looked.
“Suits you mate,” one person wrote, with another adding that it was “such a great picture”.
“My eldest son had hair like that, only much longer, till about two or three years ago, always loved it. Love the hair,” a third commented.
“Oh my goodness!!! I love it,” another exclaimed.
“People would love to have your hair,” a fan chimed in.
Matt breaks silence on mass exodus
This comes after the West Australian star told Yahoo Lifestyle it can be emotional when a cast member departs. Popular stars Sophie Dillman (Ziggy Astoni), Patrick O’Connor (Dean Thompson), Kawakawa Fox-Reo (Nikau Parata) and Courtney Miller (Bella Nixon) for the second time, have all left the soap this year.
While long-term cast members Ray Meagher (Alf Stewart), Lynne McGranger (Irene Roberts), Ada Nicodemou (Leah Patterson), Emily Symons (Marilyn Chambers) and Georgie Parker (Roo Stewart) are unlikely to exit any time soon, the younger actors often come and go quite quickly.

The soap often contracts new characters for around three years, with the actors and writers then deciding how much longer to extend their stay in Summer Bay.
“There’s so many people who would come and go on the show, so it’s kind of like high school,” he said. “If I was to finish [on the show], it would be like when you finish high school and you’ve got to say goodbye to everyone.”
He spilled that the cast and crew have a small get-together to farewell anybody finishing up, where people are able to give a small speech to celebrate their time on the show.
“That part is really sad, but then also, when someone new comes it’s really exciting,” he admitted. “It’s an emotional rollercoaster, with people coming and going, and [you’ve] just gotta keep…navigating your relationships around that.”
