Home and Away fans divided over controversial pregnancy storyline

Home and Away fans are unsure about a future storyline revolving around two main characters having a baby together, with some not happy with the unlikely pairing.

If you're a diehard fan, you'll know many people see Tane Parata (Ethan Browne) and Felicity Newman (Jacqui Purvis) as an end-game couple but rumours have been swirling for months that Felicity is set to leave the Bay, with Jacqui having not been spotted filming on set recently.

After Tane and Felicity ended their marriage earlier this year, the two have navigated trying to move on, though many Home and Away fans have been hoping that they'd find their way back to each other. However with Tane building a connection with Harper (Jessica Redmayne) after she supported him through his court battle, eagle-eyed fans have spotted some upcoming spoilers for Tane and Harper's romantic storyline and it's caused mixed opinions.

Does Tane finally get his baby dream?

Back in June, a fan snapped a photo of Harper with a fake pregnancy belly with Tane touching her baby bump and appearing to feel the baby kick for the first time. After the two spent a night together recently, fans were quick to speculate that their bout of passion may have ended up in a surprise baby.

When the photo was first commented, someone said: “[This] confirms she is pregnant with his baby. Honestly annoys me. I feel bad for Felicity and have no doubt this is why she leaves."

Now in a Home and Away Facebook fan page, a new update has been added about the pregnancy storyline, with Harper spotted with the baby bump in a photo taken on July 1. "Apparently Harper is still filming with a baby bump but she was filming at the time in the photo below," the post read.

Fans divided over Harper's pregnancy: 'No way'

Fan opinions were mixed in the comments with some happy about the impending storyline and others not convinced about the pairing and their instant family.

"Love that she is pregnant with Tane's bub .... they are the perfect team," one person commented. "No way. She is no match for Flick with Tane, [they were] a match made in heaven," another person said, with someone agreeing. "Totally blame the writers."

"Harper is a sweet girl," one supportive fan said. "Good to see Tane happy."

"Problem is he doesn’t seem interested in her. Think if she came along a little later when he has had more time to get over Felicity and the whole kidnapping happened a bit later and she still got to help him," someone else pointed out. "Maybe then he would actually be interested in her."
