Taylor Swift is on top of the world, and a new book aims to explore how she got there.

There's Nothing Like This: The Strategic Genius of Taylor Swift , coming this April from Harvard Business Review Press, will analyze Swift’s methodical rise to success and superstardom, PEOPLE can exclusively reveal.

Written by Senior Editor of Harvard Business Review Kevin Evers, the book explores the strategic moves made by Swift, 35, in her incredible career, from her first forays as a 13-year-old singing at a local mall to becoming a multi-billion-dollar global sensation.

“I set out to answer a big question: How did Taylor Swift go from a teenage girl singing in a Nashville café to a Beatles-level phenomenon?" Evers tells PEOPLE exclusively.

The book unpacks several key factors in Swift’s meteoric rise over the years including her authentic vision and commitment to writing her songs, her artistic independence after the loss of her master recordings, her experimentation in music and her ‘Swifties’ fanbase.

“Taylor’s biggest career moves — like shifting from country to pop — were driven purely by instinct," Evers says, of what surprised him most while writing the book. "She trusts her gut, takes bold risks and lets her music guide her."

"That willingness to follow her instincts has been such a huge part of her growth as an artist and her ability to keep winning," he adds.

The success of Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour, which grossed an impressive $1 billion in revenue, is also explored in the book, as well as Swift's creative resilience in her career and digital innovation in music, after becoming the top-streamed artist for the second consecutive year on Spotify in 2024.
