EXCLUSIVE: The Block's Leah reveals unseen drama from House 2 campaign

Leah says there were 'a few very very close calls' while she and Ash were trying to sell their property.

The Block’s Leah Milton has opened up about the lengthy campaign process she and her husband Ash went through before they finally sold their Charming Street property.

The Queensland couple managed to sell House 2 for $3.125 million this week, almost four months on from when they decided to pass their property in at last year’s auction. This figure gives them a tidy profit of $155,000 and officially puts them in third place for season 19 above their co-stars Kyle and Leslie Cottone and Kristy and Brett Beames.

Speaking exclusively to Yahoo Lifestyle following the sale, Leah says it’s a “big relief” to end their Block journey with a successful result.

“It was really hard to keep quiet throughout the campaign as we always had a consistent interest in our home, a few very, very close calls,” she shares.

“We would constantly be asked if it’s sold, which we understand everyone wants to know, so it was hard to keep the details hush.”

While Leah admits that passing their property in at the auction was a “really nerve-wracking decision”, she says it’s clear it was ultimately the right one.

“In a normal sales campaign the aim is to reach the reserve, however with The Block the aim is to go above,” she details.

“Our reserve had been publicly announced worldwide. That’s a huge challenge to overcome for our agents Noel Susay and Halli Moore at Buxton, but they showed unwavering dedication and never altered their vision for us to find the perfect buyer who loved our home.

“To not only get a sale for our home but to go above the reserve with such a successful result for us is a huge accomplishment on their side. Auction day they said they wouldn’t stop for us and they have stuck to their word.”

Who purchased Leah and Ash's house?

Unlike the other properties sold on the show last year, House 2 was purchased by a family who plan to live in the home. Leah reveals that the buyer is someone who works in the construction industry and has “praised the craftsmanship and quality” of the property.

“That is a testament to not only Ash’s hard work but our incredible builder Dash Construct, Harvey Landscapes, and all the trades who worked hard to finish the job on a top-tier level,” she says.

“This was so important because the house went to a more traditional campaign without The Block buzz and the finer details are really picked up on. The buyers love the style and have mentioned they wouldn’t change a thing.”

Although it’s been quite a long journey, Leah says she and Ash are ending their Block chapter feeling “very grateful and proud”.
