Ewan McGregor brought a special plus-one to the 2025 Critics Choice Awards.

With his daughter Jamyan, 23, by his side, the Scottish star turned the starry awards show into a special father-daughter date night. The occasion marks a rare red carpet outing for the Star Wars actor and his daughter, who he welcomed by adoption in April 2006 with his ex wife Eve Mavrakis.

The former couple also share daughters Clara, 29, Esther, 23, and Anouk, 14. He also has a son Laurie, 3, with wife Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

The Emmy winner, who was on hand to present, wore a classic black suit with silky lapels, as well as a matching top and buckle loafers. Jamyan rocked a little black dress with a square neckline, calf-hitting boots and statement dangly earrings that added a ton of sparkle. She wore her hair in a high bun.

While public outings are few and far between for the father-daughter duo, Ewan does love to bring his kids to work when it comes to celebratory moments.

On Sept. 12, 2024, he brought Clara, Jamyan, Anouk and Laurie, as well as Winstead, to his Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony. The family beamed as Ewan accepted the iconic honor. A few months before that, he, Winstead, Clara and Jamyan attended the New York City premiere of his show A Gentleman in Moscow.

In a 2008 interview with PEOPLE, Ewan opened up about parenthood and why technology helped keep them closer together, even when they were miles apart. At the time, he had embarked on a global motorcycle tour.

Although admitting he's "not the sort of dad who carries pictures around in his wallet," that doesn't mean he isn't constantly thinking about his family and phones were a big relief as he was "able to hear their voices."

Speaking with Variety last year, Ewan revealed how he deeply he resonated with his role in A Gentleman in Moscow as Count Alexander Rostov, who becomes a caretaker of a young girl.

"I realized while we were shooting, like, ‘Oh, this is an adoption story.’ I like that part of it because I love that part of my life,” he said. “I think it’s true that we are two different people before we have children and after we have children — you don’t have this responsibility to another human life, you don’t ever experience it until somebody calls you Dad."

Jamyan, born in June 2001, was adopted from Mongolia when she was 4 years old. Ewan met her at a children's shelter while filming a TV show in 2004 and has since spoken about her adoption in his 2020 Apple TV+ docuseries, Long Way Up.

"[I] left that day, but I couldn't stop thinking about that little girl," he said, adding that "it took nearly two years," before they adopted Jamyan. He also said that it was a "big moment" for him that "changed everything."
