Cynthia Erivo Sports Exaggerated Hips on ‘CBS Mornings’ in Mugler Long-sleeve Minidress for ‘Wicked’ Press Tour
Cynthia Erivo continued her “Wicked”-inspired style streak during a visit to CBS Studios in New York City on Monday. The Tony Award-winning actress chatted with the hosts of “CBS Mornings” about the film adaptation of the renowned musical in which she stars alongside Ariana Grande.
Erivo wore a minidress courtesy of Mugler’s spring 2025 ready-to-wear collection. The ensemble featured a black base fabric embroidered with allover sparkling elements, a high neckline and a fitted bodice. A sculptural element was also included in the look, featuring exaggerated hips that added tension to the ensemble.

As for the rest of her outfit, Erivo opted for black bootie heels and wore a Thom Browne coat over her dress. The “Harriet” Oscar nominee accessorized with a few rings, a series of earrings and a septum ring in metallic silver.
Mugler’s spring 2025 ready-to-wear collection made its runway debut during Paris Fashion Week last September. Creative director Casey Cadwallader took inspiration from flowers for the collection, adding an edge to a traditionally feminine aesthetic. “It’s a real refresh,” Cadwallader said backstage at the show.
“But these were not your grandmother’s florals. Cadwallader’s starting point, ostensibly, was a 1982 collection of brightly hued petal dresses, but he spun it through his dark lens by tapping into the geometry at the heart of the blooms,” Joelle Diderich wrote in WWD’s review of the collection.
“I’ve been doing a lot of yard work, and ripping out flowers, planting new flowers,” Cadwallader also shared in reference to the collection. “And really, by doing that, my ideas got stronger. I was able to get out of the daily matrix of questions and people’s needs, and instead, just get into my head a little bit.”
“Wicked,” directed by Jon M. Chu and written by Winnie Holzman and Dana Fox, stars Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda. During the press tour of the film, which debuted in theaters on Nov. 22, Erivo wore outfits created by Versace, Louis Vuitton, Thom Browne and Marc Jacobs, among other luxury brands.
