Home and Away fans left shocked after discovering star's past acting role
It turns out Rose Delaney has popped up in Summer Bay before... well, kind of.
Home and Away fans appear to have been doing a little rewatch of the series as the show goes on hiatus for the rest of the year. While the shocking 2024 finale left us scratching our heads and eagerly awaiting the show's return in 2025, some people still want their nightly 7pm fix of drama and have taken to re-visiting old episodes of the show.
One eagle-eyed fan noticed a very familiar face on screen during one such re-watch — but not in the same role we know and love her for. "Before Kirsty became Rose, she was Rhea at Brody and Ziggy’s wedding," they said, even timestamping the episode (episode 6910, June 28, 2018 for those playing at home).
Home and Away fan fave spotted years before regular role
And sure enough — there's Kirsty Marillier, aka Rose Delaney, aka probably our favourite cop in the Bay to be fair, because Cash is a bit too erratic.
Fans loved the throwback, but it was also a sad reminder that Kirsty is due to depart screens in 2025, after appearing as a regular on the series since 2022.

"Love her in Home and Away. Will be so sorry to see her leave," one person commented. "So sad to see her go, I thought Rose and Cash were going to be an item at the beginning but now she leaving... good luck for her future career," another said.
"Rhea should return for a long lost twin storyline…with the hair of course so the audience knows the difference," someone else joked. (We all know Home and Away does love a good twin storyline after all.)
"Rose leaving the bay is so wrong, she should be endgame with Mali," someone else lamented.
Fan fave departs Home and Away
Rose's disappearance from the Bay has been rumoured for some time with actress Kirsty Marillier taking on numerous new projects in 2025, starring in Picnic at Hanging Rock alongside Olivia DeJonge at the Sydney Opera House from February 17 to April 5, 2025. But after she was spotted still filming recently, fans were holding onto hope that Rose would be sticking around.

However, it was confirmed that Kirsty filmed her last scenes as Rose on October 9, with her driving off into the sunset as friends like Kirby and Bree wave her off.
Rose's last scenes are expected to air early next year, when the show returns on January 13.
