CONFIRMED: MAFS' Duncan and Evelyn announce major relationship news

After weeks of speculation, Married At First Sight’s Duncan James and Evelyn Ellis have confirmed that they are now dating.

The couple, who both failed to find love with their respective partners on this year’s season of the reality show, announced the news in an interview with 9Entertainment.

“Are you in a relationship?” Evelyn asked at the beginning of the clip shared on Instagram, to which Duncan replied, “Yes I am. Well, yes we are!”.

“We are in a relationship,” she gushed. “This is Evelyn and Duncan’s hard launch.”

The 27-year-old model and former Big Brother UK star said it “feels good” to finally share the happy news with the public.

“It feels kind of exhilarating in a weird, freeing way,” she added.

“Yeah, weight off the shoulders, I can stand tall,” Duncan said.

'Straight-up passion'

Duncan, 36, explained that he and Evelyn “started hanging out” shortly after the show finished filming in December.

“Everyone’s sort of friends in the cast, and obviously me and you living in Sydney probably hung out a little bit more,” he said.

“All of a sudden we went out on a couple of nights and some of the warm, fuzzy feelings happened in my stomach and I thought, ‘Oh what’s this, how are we going here?’. And then one thing led to another.”

When asked to describe their chemistry, Duncan said, “Just straight-up passion with a sprinkling of best friend”.

Evelyn and her TV ‘husband’ Rupert Bugden ended their relationship at final vows and have remained close friends since filming wrapped. Meanwhile, Duncan broke his on-screen wife Alyssa Barmonde’s heart at final vows and had a tense reunion in the show’s final episode.

Rumours about Duncan and Evelyn’s new relationship first emerged in April after they were spotted ‘dirty dancing’ at a Sydney club.
