Video transcript

Well, congratulations, guys.

We obviously loved season one.

how has it felt going into season two?

It's well, it's, you know, we started writing Season 2 March last year, March 2023.

So we're now like month 16.

We've been working on this, like, every day since then, and we just sent it out to the world.

Feeling good feeling, really relieved.

We watched it last night in front of it with the crowd, and they responded in a way that was very pleasing.

We could not have anticipated it went off.

You didn't hold back?

No.

You were like, first two es.

We're swinging big.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

No, they only showed one last night.

They showed one, but but yeah, like we like, Let's get out of the gate.

There's a cliffhanger at the end of one.

So they didn't want to show two.

And yada yada ahead of the podcast is the term.

Yeah, Last time you guys told us about the real life story where you're at the airport and, um, someone confused, Yeah.

Your dad was there any other real life experiences that, um, influenced the show this time this season?

Golly gosh, Yeah, well, there's an episode in the season, uh, where Ashley gets her wisdom teeth removed.

And that's because Harriet got her wisdom teeth removed.

And we thought, Let's put that on the show.

We were missing a few textures.

Pardon me for F eight and we were like, I had these big cheeks.

I was like, just like this.

And it kind of plotted it in high on opioids and then went, I guess that works.

There's something kind of real about it, and now we watch it back.

We're like, I don't know if that was a good idea, but it's in there now, but yeah, lots of things.

Lots of little bits.

II.

I couldn't There's too many to mention I mean, nothing really from our lives.

But we just bowerbird everything from our friends and family, our poor friends, as you should.

That's it's their fault for being your friends.

They know Now, Um, Gordon and Ash have a few very big fights in, um, this season.

Is that hard as a couple, or is it great?

It's pretty good actually, to let the horses out, let them run, but it's safe.

You know what I mean, it's like, Is this the end of it?

It's like it's just it's not the end of it.

So go for it and you get you get a few takes.

So if you didn't get it all out, you've still got another chance.

We're probably writing more and more arguments as we do for arguments, are the fun.

Actually, they kind of are because they're real, but they're fun, but they're not real, but they but they've got the same engine.

But we get to write.

We get to, uh, you know, you so rarely get to do that.

Like to have a like a well written argument.

I feel like your arguments are well written.

Yes, and also we, um you so rarely get to argue with someone you'd like to argue with.

Yeah, most of the people you have an argument with on set like acting.

It's like I don't know.

You seem lovely.

You've never you've never done anything to not annoy me.

But it's like here we're on.

Yeah, you farted and woke me up.

Is that a real life?

Even if it was not it, this is Yahoo.

Yahoo.

That was the sound far out.

Um, when you say that the fights are well written because you guys do the writing.

Um, is it, um, do the jokes become funnier for yourself when you're writing your own line?

It's always a good sign if we laugh as we're writing it, Yeah, that's a fair sign that it's gonna work.

And and we need to know that it makes us laugh initially because we're about to spend a year and a half with that joke, and it stops being funny about month two.

And that's why I was so about to see Episode one last night with a crowd because they were getting it all fresh.

And we've forgotten the jokes.

We've forgotten how they work.

And, uh, there's was a big stunt in there, and everyone knew it was coming on the set because they'd read the script.

And then the stunt happens.

You're like and these people didn't see it.

It was just so it was so great they didn't see it coming.

Stuff like that.

It was very exciting.

You turned the humour up, which it was already funny.

But you reckon yes, Right?

Thank you.

Have you seen 312123.

You know, if you'd given me all of them, I would watched them all that I have that feeling, like people.

I mean, because they said, you know, we're gonna send three out, you know, publicity at B.

We're gonna send three out.

Don't worry if they don't watch them all.

And everyone's watched.

Three.

How could you not?

That's amazing.

I love that.

A lot of people at the office were wondering are, um, Zach and busters up the dogs.

Um, have they become divas since, um, you know, season one dogs could be I don't know.

Let's be honest.

Dogs are dogs.

Dogs are dogs.

He doesn't know he's on a TV show.

Isn't that wild?

He doesn't.

He's gotten he doesn't know what a TV is.

Just every now and then he sees us.

He's like, I bet they're gonna put my back legs in that really thing again.

Yeah, And I bet they're gonna bring that big black thing closer to me and some lights.

That's all he knows.

And I'm gonna eat more turkeys.

Turkey on a stick.

Yeah, that's right.

That's Yeah.

You have chicken.

Um, Gordon and Ashley are obviously willing to go very far for their dog.

Um, yeah.

How far would you guys go for a dog?

For as far as it goes, as far as we have to.

Oh, my God.

We love our dog.

We we do for our dog so much.

Like I said to Patty, actually, apparently you can clone your dog, right?

A friend told me this.

He has a pug who he's obsessed with because pug owners are nuts.

But he has a pug, and he's like, he's English.

She's like, Harry did you know, you can clone your dog and I'm like, That's so wild I. I don't know where it's a country that I don't know.

You can paint them out and they would give you, like, the replica puppy, But it wouldn't be him up here or here.

No, I wouldn't, but I still could do it.

We're not doing it, OK?

He would look very much like him not doing it.

OK, OK, I. I preve my dog every day and I think when he the day will come, it won't come.

It will.

But if it ever does come, we have to get a totally different looking dog.

We don't get a clone of that.

We don't get another Chihuahua meat talk about this.

Not in front of, you know, I had a golden retriever and my mum did send her to a farm.

And that's true.

It's true.

You went to a farm.

OK, OK, Um, can you share any other fun behind the scenes stories or fun facts that fans might be surprised to know?

Fun facts In this season, there is a baby, there is a wedding and there is a death.

Come on.

OK, come on.

What more there is, Do you want?

What more do you want?

And there's a scene in Episode four where there's a whole bit with a hat improvised on the day.

That's not at all.

People might like to know that.

Um, what else?

I don't know that I get a pretty hectic spray tan.

Um, that's fun.

Is that part of your usual beauty regime?

No.

But again comes from life comes from life.

You got a spray tan.

It was a shade too dark.

And I was like, What's that about?

Yeah, it happens.

It's a big thing that, um I don't know.

There's, uh, What else is there?

There's stuff.

Yeah.

Great.

Perfect.

Well, thank you so much for your time.

Thanks for your, Um we'll see you for season three.

Yep.

You got it.

Thank you.
