Yahoo Lifestyle Harrison Ford Divulges He’s Been Keeping a ‘Big Secret’ From Wife Calista Flockhart
Harrison Ford is officially entering superhero territory with his role in the upcoming Captain America: Brave New World, but it seems his wife doesn't know much about the Marvel Universe.
While speaking with Entertainment Tonight about playing Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross—also known as Red Hulk—the 82-year-old icon was asked whether his wife, Calista Flockhart, is a Marvel fan.
"She thinks it's Mrs. Marvel," Ford quipped, adding, "She's not seen this movie."
"Nobody's seen this movie, this is a big secret," he continued, explaining that he had to keep everything about the film under wraps, even when it came to the Ally McBeal star.
"It wasn't that hard," he admitted.
Ford and Flockhart, 60, met at the Golden Globe Awards in 2002 and went on to tie the knot in 2010.
During PaleyLive’s recent “An Evening of Shrinking” event at Writers Guild Theater in Beverly Hills, Ford told UsWeekly that while he would "love to work" with Flockhart, the right opportunity never came along.
“That’s just the circumstantial reality where we haven’t been offered something where we’d work together,” the Indiana Jones star said.

In an October 2024 interview with GQ, the Shrinking actor said it's the "quality of writing" that draws him to a project.
"It doesn’t matter what the genre is. It doesn’t matter whether it’s on television or in movies. It’s the writing, it’s the story, it’s the character, it’s the emotional experience for an audience or for myself. It’s people that I have some feeling that I want to work with, or it’s a quality opportunity," he said, adding, "I suppose I should be sitting on my ass, but I actually love working."
As far as playing a superhero, it seems Ford doesn't take the title too seriously.
"I mean, this is the Marvel universe and I'm just there on a weekend pass," he said. "I'm a sailor new to this town. Show me the way to go home."
