Christina Aguilera's cryptic social media post sends fans into a frenzy: 'What happened?'

Iconic singer Christina Aguilera is currently in the midst of touring, with the Grammy-winner delighting fans with some of her biggest hits such as 'Fighter' and 00s club anthem 'Dirty'. She is set to start her Las Vegas residency at Voltaire at The Venetian Resort on May 31 where she will "invite guests into a musically dynamic and immersive piece of art."

Over the weekend, Christina appeared at a music festival in Mexico but, judging from her most recent Instagram post, it seems as though it's a miracle she made it. The Tecate Emblema festival in Mexico City was held on May 18 and 19 and featured a stellar lineup that also included Nelly Furtado and Anitta, with around 72,000 people in attendance.

Sharing snaps of her time on stage at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, Christina wrote a very cryptic message to her fans.

"Ciudad de México! 🌟 I almost didn’t make it on stage, but your energy and passion gave me the power and made my night. ¡Muchas gracias! ❤️🇲🇽," she wrote.

"Why Christina? What happened? Tell us!!!" one concerned fan wrote under the photo carousel.

"What happened?? 😭," another asked.

"😢Awww so glad everything worked out and we were able to see her," another added.

"Does anyone know why she says she almost doesn't make it? 🧐," another fan wrote (in Spanish). "Maybe that explains the delay in her show haha, I loved her show and I love her with my heart but I also like gossip 🙌."

Others seemed less concerned with the mysterious message and were just happy that she had performed.

"I'm glad you made it. This show was my pre-birthday gift, so I wanna thank you very much for your effort to make it happen," raved one fan.

"We’re happy to give you that energy and power [so] you were able to serve that incredible show. We love you 🩷 and we’ll always support you Queen. Come back soon 🫶🏻," said another.

"I was there and it was amazing, what a powerful woman 😍❤️🙌🔥👏," someone else said.

Over on X, fans were just as supportive, with one person even suggesting that if Christina needed backup, her army of loyal listeners would be there for her. "Why? Tell us queen who should we target," they ominously wrote.

Another gave something of a backhanded compliment, writing, "I knew you didn't seem to be your 100%. Get well soon queen!"

So, why did Christina Aguilera almost miss the Mexican music festival? Well, we actually don't know but one fan seems to think that all will be revealed soon writing, "An explanation is coming, she promises it’d be worth the wait."

Fans go wild over Christina's transformation

Christina's fans were not only blown away by her performance at Tecate Emblema, but by her appearance as well, with the multi-platinum-selling artist showing off a slimmed-down physique.

"She looks better than ever," one fan enthused on TikTok alongside a video of Christina singing in Spanish.

"SHE WENT BACK TO HER TWENTIES ❤️," another yelled while someone else agreed, "She hasn’t aged one bit lol."
