Charlotte Crosby on why Aussie Shore is so much 'wilder' than Geordie Shore
EXCLUSIVE: The reality TV veteran spills on what fans can expect in the brand new Paramount+ series.
The long-awaited Australian version of the reality TV juggernaut Jersey Shore has finally arrived and it’s already been described as the most X-rated show on TV. The Paramount+ series, aptly titled Aussie Shore, follows 11 housemates who live together in Cairns, Queensland as they drink, party, and make use of the ‘Shag Pad’.
The first two episodes hit Paramount+ on Thursday and it’s definitely not the type of show you’d want to watch with your parents. Between full-frontal nudity, plenty of steamy make-out sessions, and two cast members taking part in a “piss transplant” in the pool - where, you guessed it, they pee on each other - the Aussie series has already proven that it stands out amongst its international counterparts.
Charlotte Crosby, who launched to fame as a housemate on Geordie Shore and has been cast as Aussie Shore’s ‘House Boss’, tells Yahoo Lifestyle that she believes the series is “so much wilder” than other iterations of the popular franchise.

“If you were to watch Aussie Shore and then you thought, ‘Oh do you know what? I'm gonna go back and watch some Geordie Shore’, it would be like watching paint dry. Geordie Shore would be like watching paint dry, and that is saying something,” she remarks.
“I truly think that I've never met a bunch like these. They're all so different and they're all so wild. I think they're not comparable [to Geordie Shore housemates]. I think they've brought out their very own brand new characters, which is great.”
Charlotte's rules as 'House Boss'
Charlotte announced upon her arrival at the Aussie Shore house that her ground rules as ‘House Boss’ include “keep the house clean”, “no fight lasts longer than two days”, and “no pubes”. She admits that it was “such an easy role to step into” because of her previous experience on the series, but it took a while for reality to sink in.
“It seems so bizarre that that I am the boss of Aussie Shore like what the hell, what a full circle moment!” she remarks. “Like, if someone had told me when I was walking in the house 15 years ago, ‘Oh by the way, Charlotte, you're actually gonna be the boss in like, 12, 13 years but in Australia’, I’d be like, ‘What?’.”
While she’s appeared on over 100 episodes of Geordie Shore, she was completely baffled when she learned that the Aussie Shore ‘Shag Pad’ had been stocked with dental dams. The X-rated item, which Charlotte admitted she had never heard of, is a thin, flexible piece of latex used for oral sex.
“We didn’t have these on our show,” she laughed in the episode.
With the first two episodes featuring one housemate admitting they “f**ked [their] boss in the work freezer”, another showcasing their ability to burp and fart on cue, and one couple already christening the ‘Shag Pad’ - but failing to “get it up” - viewers are certainly in for a wild ride this season.
