Rumours have been swirling around Sonia Kruger's next career move for some time, especially after it was announced that Big Brother was coming to an end on Channel Seven. However, Yahoo Lifestyle can exclusively reveal that Sonia will be back as host of Dancing With The Stars with Dr Chris Brown in 2025, with Seven set to embrace Sonia's natural ad-lib ability.

"Dr Chris Brown will be back with Sonia Kruger and the duo will be bringing their double entendres and quick wit," a source told Yahoo Lifestyle. "I'd say Channel Seven will be double downing on Sonia's antics as while people complained she was too crude, the ratings were up and true fans were embracing her bawdy sense of humour."

Yahoo Lifestyle previously confirmed in October that Sonia had re-signed with Channel Seven, with an insider saying that her next roles would be “something more to do with what we originally hired her for”. Meanwhile, another source close to the 59-year-old confirmed that she will be “getting back to her roots and doing some ‘on location’ work” in 2025.

“Sonia is at her best when she can ad-lib. Giving her a microphone and getting real people to open up is a real skill set she can do effortlessly, so I think it's a waste not to get her out there again in that sort of capacity,” the insider said. “I think Sonia wants more and rightfully so.”

Sonia Kruger caused quite an uproar on this year’s season of Dancing With The Stars, with several viewers sending complaints to Channel Seven about her X-rated jokes. Despite being known - and quite well-loved - for her cheeky sense of humour, some fans have labelled her “too crude for television” following some of her remarks on the 2024 series.

Despite the complaints about Sonia's tongue-in-cheek comments not being "suitable" for a "family-friendly" show, an insider told Yahoo Lifestyle that Sonia's jokes were carefully planned and approved ahead of time.

“Sonia is naturally funny and her sense of humour works well with this format,” our source says. “Most of the double entendres go over the kids' heads and all the jokes are required to get network approval.

“Sonia is known to walk into the dressing room of the judges and give them a heads up and even workshop some of the gags with them. They love to play along and there is never any malice intended. It’s all a bit of fun.”

Dancing With The Stars 2025 is set to be announced within the coming days, with David 'Kochie' Koch and Kate Ritchie said to be at the top of Channel Seven's list when it comes to competing talent.

The insider also told Yahoo Lifestyle the show would be looking at only casting Channel Seven talent, and steer clear of promoting other reality shows by not featuring contestants from The Block, MasterChef Australia, Australian Survivor, or I'm A Celebrity.

"The rumours that Kate Richie will be on SAS Australia were wrong," confirms our source.

"David Koch has been close to signing on DWTS for two years and many think 2025 could be the last chance they might get him. The former Sunrise presenter has been asked the most out of any other celebrity in the industry. If he says yes, you bet that little fact will be spruiked loud and clear."
