Cardi B Embraces Anime Inspiration in Vivienne Westwood Skirt for Whipshots and Fat Tuesday 2025 Super Bowl Event

Cardi B headed to New Orleans ahead of Sunday’s Super Bowl LIX to attend a kick-off event in collaboration with Whipshots and Fat Tuesday on Friday. The Grammy Award-winning rapper attended the fan event and performed at the venue on New Orleans’ iconic Bourbon Street.

For the special occasion, Cardi opted for a touch of anime-style inspiration as well as a piece courtesy of Vivienne Westwood. The “Money” rapper styled her hair in a half-up, half-down look with fringe to frame her face akin to the iconic anime “Sailor Moon” character Usagi Tsukino.

Cardi also wore a graphic white T-shirt with her look and styled a tartan skirt by Vivienne Westwood in shades of white, red and black. The rapper and “Hustlers” star completed the ensemble wearing gladiator-style shoes.

Cardi accessorized her look with a few pieces of jewelry, including a watch. She also carried a small handbag with a long, cross-body strap. Prior to Cardi’s appearance at the event, the rapper led a Cardi B-themed band to the New Orleans hot spot.

The rapper performed and celebrated Whipshots and Fat Tuesday’s collaboration, posing for photos at the venue. Fat Tuesday and Whipshots’ new menu collaboration celebrated the Cardi Gras season in traditional NOLA style.

Prior to her trip to New Orleans ahead of the Super Bowl, Cardi attended the 2025 Grammy Awards on Feb. 2. The rapper wore a sequined tiger print gown courtesy of Roberto Cavalli’s spring 2025 collection, which featured allover ornate beading and voluminous feathers on the skirt. The rapper completed her look with gold and diamond Le Vian earrings, as well as jeweled serpent cocktail rings.

The Super Bowl LIX, the NFL’s championship game for the 2024 season, took place on Sunday at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. This marks the 11th time New Orleans has hosted the Super Bowl, tying with Miami for the most by any city. Kendrick Lamar performed at the Apple Music Super Bowl LIX halftime show.
