Yahoo Lifestyle Candace Cameron Bure Shares Update on Her ‘Queen of Christmas Movies’ Future
Candace Cameron Bure is far from ready to relinquish her “Queen of Christmas movies” crown.
The Full House star announced earlier this week that she will appear in a new sequel to a Christmas-themed movie she starred in just last year.
Cameron Bure made the exciting announcement in a video shared in a joint Instagram post with Great American Family on Thursday, Feb. 6. Cameron Mathison, her co-star for 2024’s Home Sweet Christmas, also appeared in the video.
“Cam and I are back together again!” Cameron Bure, 48, exclaimed while revealing the news at the start of the video.
“We’re gonna do another Christmas movie together again,” Mathison said.
“Yes, we are,” Cameron Bure confirmed. “We’re gonna do a sequel to our Christmas movie that just aired last year.”
As the video continued, Mathison reflected on working with the Fuller House alum following several years of friendship. He recalled an immediate “dynamic that we had that was very comfortable and trusting,” adding, “I think there was a great connection.”
While Mathison admitted that there exists “a selfish aspect” to making movies, he said he also always has “hope” that audiences will connect with his films.
“You hope so badly that people at home are going to enjoy it and connect with it,” he said. “And you want them to.”
Learning that viewers felt a connection to Home Sweet Christmas made Mathison feel “so happy.” That feeling reached “the next level” when he found out about the sequel.
“I’m so excited,” he said.
Fans who reacted to the video online seemed equally excited, with one telling Cameron Bure, “I love your Christmas movies! So glad you’re doing another one.”
“So happy to hear there will be a sequel,” one Instagram user agreed.
“THE QUEEN OF CHRISTMAS MOVIES IS BACKK,” another Instagram user cheered.
“When 😍when 😍when 😍,” one fan wanted to know. At the time of the announcement, information regarding the sequel’s release timeline was unclear.
