Brittany Hockley fires off in dramatic first trailer for The Challenge

It’s one of the most anticipated reality TV shows of the year, and now Channel Ten has released the first trailer for The Challenge Australia.

The series, which was filmed in Argentina and hosted by sports commentator Brihony Dawson, has been described as a cross between Survivor, Big Brother and Ninja Warrior.

22 of the country’s most famous reality TV stars will compete for a $100,000 prize, with both a male and female winner being chosen at the end who will go on to represent Australia in the first ever The Challenge: Global Championship.

While the show will force contestants to go head-to-head in extreme physical challenges, navigate cut-throat alliances and survive eliminations, the new trailer also teases plenty of messy drama, steamy hookups and spicy confrontations.

One scene features Brittany Hockley firing off at an unknown contestant during what appears to be a cocktail party, similar to the ones she attended on both The Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise.

“You are one hundred per cent trying to make it about something it’s not,” she says fiercely while standing beside fellow Bachelor stars Brooke Blurton, Kiki Morris and Ciarran Stott.

‘What the f**k have I got myself in for?’

Another moment shows Married At First Sight star Ryan Gallagher being called “a walking joke”, while Cyrell Paule - who was involved in the infamous wine fight on MAFS in 2019 - is seen shouting expletives at someone with a wine glass in her hand.

One of the most explosive scenes in the trailer features Bachelor stars Megan Marx and Konrad Bien-Stephen hooking up in the hot tub, which took place prior to news coming out that Konrad had split from his girlfriend Abbie Chatfield.

Brooke, who dumped Konrad on last year’s season of The Bachelorette, is also shown awkwardly watching the pair kiss from an upstairs bedroom.

“What the f**k have I got myself in for?” Jack Vidgen then says in a confessional, most likely echoing the thoughts of the entire cast.

Who’s in the cast?

Representing The Bachelor on The Challenge is Brooke Blurton, Brittany Hockley, Ciarran Stott, Konrad Bien-Stephen, Jessica Brody, Megan Marx and Kiki Morris.

There are plenty of pre-established connections among the group, with Brooke and Brittany and Megan and Kiki appearing on the same seasons of The Bachelor in 2018 and 2016, respectively.

Ciarran famously dated both Kiki and Jessica on season three of Bachelor In Paradise, while Konrad came fourth on Brooke’s season of The Bachelorette.

Meanwhile, former I’m A Celebrity contestants David Subritzky and Emily Seebohm will reunite after competing in the jungle together earlier this year, as well as Survivor all-stars Brooke Jowett and Johnny Eastoe.

Rounding out the cast is MAFS stars Cyrell Paule and Ryan Gallagher, Australia’s Got Talent winner Jack Vidgen, MasterChef’s Conor Curran, Big Brother winner Marley Biyendolo, Love Island’s Grant Crapp and Audrey Kanongara, Ninja Warrior star Troy Cullen, pro boxers Sugar Neekz Johnson and Billy Dib, and influencer Suzan Mutesi.

The Challenge Australia is coming to Channel Ten in November
