Bindi Irwin shares video of daughter Grace Warrior’s first steps: 'Big moment'

Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell are celebrating a major milestone for their daughter Grace Warrior just a few days after her first birthday.

The wildlife conservationist, 23, took to social media on Wednesday to share a sweet video of Grace Warrior taking her very first steps.

“Big moment,” she captioned the Instagram post alongside a blue heart emoji.

The footage shows Grace smiling at her father Chandler, 25, as she walks toward him on the grass outside the Crocoseum at Australia Zoo.

“Good walking!” Chandler says off-camera.

Plenty of Bindi’s followers rushed to the comments to applaud the milestone and remark how “grown-up” Grace has become.

“Look at all that dark hair. Such an angel. Can’t wait for that cheeky girl to be running around,” Big Brother VIP’s Ellie Gonsalves replied.

“Precious one! Making moves, love her!” another added, while a third said, “It’s her world we’re simply just living in it”.

“She looks so much like her dad,” someone else shared, followed by a different user who commented, “She looks like Bindi in the eyes, but she definitely has her dad's face”.

“She is so adorable. I know your dad is smiling,” one follower wrote to Bindi.

‘A day to remember’

The significant event comes after Bindi and Chandler held a birthday party for Grace Warrior at Australia Zoo surrounded by Terri and Robert Irwin and Shannon and Chris Powell, who had flown in from Florida.

“A day to remember,” Bindi captioned a video documenting the occasion.

The outdoor birthday party featured a two-tiered pink cake, plenty of animals and a tribute to Bindi’s late father Steve Irwin.

“I can’t believe how fast this year has gone,” Bindi said in the clip. “Grace is just absolutely amazing, and we want to thank you guys for all of the lovely birthday wishes.”

Fans were also invited to Australia Zoo on the day to enjoy free cupcakes and celebrate the opening of the new playground, Camp Grace.

‘This is why I believe in miracles’

Grace Warrior was welcomed into the world on March 25, 2021, exactly one year after Bindi and Chandler were married.

Bindi shared a post on Instagram late last year commenting on the coincidence and pointed out a lovely detail they had only just realised.

“Grace Warrior was born at 5:52pm on the 25th of March 2021,” she wrote.

“We just discovered that Chandler and I said our vows and were officially married exactly 3 minutes earlier on the 25th of March 2020. Three. Minutes. This is why I believe in miracles.”
