Bindi Irwin reveals how daughter Grace is carrying on Steve's legacy

Bindi Irwin's 10-month-old daughter Grace Warrior may have never met her grandfather Steve Irwin, who passed away in 2006, but she is carrying on his legacy nevertheless.

"I think she's got that determination that Steve had and that connection with wildlife," Bindi's mum Terri told Entertainment Tonight. "Because it is weird to see animals just gravitate to her. So she'll go out in the morning in the stroller, and all the kangaroos just gather around her like they're having a meeting."

Bindi added, "Oh my word, the koalas ... literally climb out of their trees to come see her."

She also said that while the koalas' claws are a little too sharp for hugging, Grace does try to reach out and touch them like her "risk-taker" grandfather with Terri adding, "That's Steve all over."

Bindi also shared that Grace's 'best friend' is an Aldabra tortoise named Igloo.

"He’s massive and the cutest," she shared. "When he sees Grace, he runs across his paddock, which is huge. If you're a tortoise, you can't really run very fast, but he does his best, runs across the paddock to see her and just sits. She tries to pat him, and she just ends up kind of like hitting him on the head."

Bindi added, "They love each other! It's the funniest thing you've ever seen. I love that my daughter's best friend is a tortoise."

Speaking about their series Crikey! It's the Irwins, Terri said it's really a tribute to Steve, "It’s a tribute to his legacy. It’s important that the beat goes on, and we love sharing our lives because conservation isn't just what we do, it defines who we are and it kind of encourages, I hope, everyone to make it part of your life, you know?"

Bindi, who shares Grace with husband Chandler Powell, took to Instagram earlier this week to share some sweet snaps of her daughter to celebrate her being 10-months-old.

"Happy 10 months to our beautiful angel," she wrote alongside some snaps taken by her brother Robert Irwin.

Fans loved the happy snaps with one commenting, "Tongue out and always smiling. What a gorgeous little girl Grace Warrior is. My goodness, she's photogenic."

"Oh my goodness what a cutie, 10 months already?!" another wrote. "That’s crazy!"

"She definitely looks like you Bindi!" a third added.
