Prince Harry has reportedly turned down a major offer from Buckingham Palace just days before he returns to the UK for his High Court trial against News Group Newspapers. Harry alleges he was targeted by journalists and private investigators working for the newspaper group, who used unlawful activity to gain information about him. News Group Newspapers has denied any unlawful activity took place.

Harry will be given "limited police protection" when he arrives in the UK after losing his legal battle for taxpayer-funded security. According to The Mirror, Met Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley has agreed to provide the Duke of Sussex with armed officers from the Royalty and Specialist Protection Command.

A source tells the newspaper, "He is offering Harry limited police protection. The Met has been trying to recruit officers on their days off because they don't have a lot of spare staff."

They add that Harry turned down an offer to stay at Buckingham Palace.

Harry contested the decision to downgrade his security status when he stopped being a working royal, as he was no longer automatically given the same level of protection other members of the royal family were given.

His security is now made on a case-by-case basis, in the same way as other VIP visitors.

Speaking to Fox News, British royal expert Hilary Fordwich has claimed that William feels the future of The Firm is looming over his head. She said, "Prince William is dedicated to duty, as imbued in him by Queen Elizabeth II, who tutored him every Sunday regarding his royal duties."

"He’s also under huge generational pressure since the increasing public popularity of the monarchy ranks highest for both him and Princess Catherine."

Hilary adds that Harry and Andrew will likely be nervous about what's to come when William does become King.

"Harry’s whinge fest Spare, with its acerbic accusations against the royal family, particularly his denigration of the Princess of Wales, rendered it the 'final straw' as William told those around him," Hilary claimed.

She added that William felt he and Kate were "bitterly attacked" in the tell-all, and as for Andrew, he feels his uncle "has put the family in jeopardy" with his ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

Hilary continued, "He won’t and can’t risk public association with disastrous members of the family who merely serve as distractions from public duty."
