Abbie Chatfield posts tear-filled video about boyfriend 'cheating': 'Heartbroken'

Abbie Chatfield has given a Logie award-winning performance on social media pretending to be upset about her boyfriend Adam Hyde ‘cheating’ on her with none other than fellow Peking Duk member Reuben Styles. The podcast host tearfully asked her followers on Saturday whether Adam, who she officially went public with in June, had been unfaithful to her after he posted a video of Reuben feeding him an egg.

Set to Kelly Rowland and Nelly’s duet ‘Dilemma’, the clip features the men making intense eye contact as Adam opens his mouth and allows Reuben to insert a hard-boiled egg. “Tag the one who treats you like this,” they captioned the post.

Abbie then duetted the video and shared her thoughts, saying she was “heartbroken” because she and Adam “have an agreement when he’s on tour”.

“Obviously dating a musician is very stressful because when they’re on tour you think like, what’s the worst they can do? Like, what are they gonna get up to?” she began. “I’m actually heartbroken seeing this cause it’s like, we have an agreement that I said to him when we first started dating that when they’re on tour… I really don’t want him to be fed whole eggs by Reuben anymore.”

Abbie began tearing up as she continued to speak out about Adam’s ‘betrayal’, proving that Neighbours should cast her in a guest role ASAP.

“It’s like, I just don’t get why he would do that. And then to post it on social media I’m like, I don’t get why he would allow Reuben to feed him a whole egg to swallow whole. It’s our thing,” she said while sniffling and wiping away tears.

“It’s just stressful dating a musician guys, it’s not what you think it is.”

Followers confused by hilarious post

Abbie’s followers were clearly divided in the comments, with a handful of people unaware that the post was a joke and instead encouraging her to “toughen up”

“Are you serious I can’t tell,” one person asked, while someone else said it was a “weird take”.

“Mate, you need to get over it! If they’re mucking around only, then let them have fun!” a different user replied. “You’re coming across possessive and insecure. No female or male likes those traits.”

Meanwhile, others applauded Abbie’s performance and said the video was “hilarious”, “brilliant” and, of course, “eggcellent”.

“The real question is why they haven’t offered you an acting contract cause damn girl,” a fan commented, followed by another who added, “If you don’t get an acting gig from this I’ll eat a whole egg”.

“Mate… You deserve an Oscar for this. I feel cheated on! This was the most wonderful performance I wanted to cry too!” a third shared.

“Gosh such a great actress. What is real and what is not with you is going to be harder to gauge now. Crazy,” someone else remarked.
