Abbie Chatfield hits back at Peggy and Molly's owners after calling her an 'attention w***e'

"So, let's take a trip down memory lane of the losers that own this account," Abbie said of Peggy and Molly's owners.

Abbie Chatfield has slammed the Insta-famous duo Peggy and Molly's owners, Juliette Wells and Reece Mortensen, for publicly trolling her. The subject arose when one of Abbie's followers left a comment on one of her posts that read: "Abbie do you remember when that Peggy and Molly animal account trolled you?"

The podcaster and TV presenter responded with a lengthy video, saying she does, in fact, remember. "I think about it about once a week, that time that a staffy and a magpie trolled me – not them themselves, but they're weirdo freak owners. Who owns a magpie, anyway?"

She continued, saying they "trolled" her for "wearing a hot little top".

"They are getting an animated series, so I know why you're asking... because they're getting an animated series, which I would be happy for the animals if they were the ones owning the account, but unfortunately, their owners have trolled me in the past.

"So, let's take a trip down memory lane of the losers that own this account," Abbie added. "It all began when I posted a video saying, '@ the table of boomers loudly next to me b***hing about me saying they would be ashamed if their daughter wore that top out.'"

"But after that, I got a comment from Peggy and Molly – official account, you can see it there – and it says, 'Yep, look up attention w**re and you'll see a pic of Abbie Chatfield,' and this is when my vengeance began."

Abbie said she'd never heard of the Insta-famous dog and magpie duo before, but she posted a lot about it at the time because she found it very funny that a verified staffy and magpie account would troll her.

She added that the part she found funniest was that she believes they meant to write the comment from their "troll account," not their verified account.

"Which means they most likely have been trolling me for a very long time, in my opinion, I also think that they probably troll other people, because people that have these troll accounts are such losers that they do it as a little bit of an outlet to feel a little bit of power against people that they're jealous of or have an issue with even though, like, who cares go and enjoy your magpie and your staffy."

Abbie revealed that after she posted several videos about the incident, one of Peggy and Molly's owners, Reese, claimed that their account had been hacked.

"This is not us. Please do some research before commenting," he wrote in an Instagram comment in response to a follower who was disappointed by their comment. "We have been hacked."

Abbie continued her rant, saying, "First of all, what research? The research is there, it's a screenshot with a verified account of you trolling me, because you forgot to change to your little troll account, because you're such a loser, you have a troll account, you f***ing losers, but now they're getting an animated series."

"So, once they posted that, obviously I was going that's so funny, because why would anyone hack you to comment one thing on Abbie Chatfield's post and reply to a comment saying that I'm an attention w**re? Like, how daft are people because people going, 'Babe, they got hacked!' Are you f***ing serious? Like come on, come on."

Fans were quick to react to Abbie's video, with one user writing, "Peggy and Molly are so embarrassed."

"This is my Roman Empire," another joked.

"Thank you for clarifying that it was not Peggy or Molly due to their lack of thumbs 😂😂😂," a third laughed.

"I want an Abbie Chatfield animated series and I will be putting it in email against the Peggy and Molly series to the creators," one TikTok user wrote.

"Are you serious!" another said. "Did they ever apologise to you? What an awful comment. I hope they address this ASAP on their page. Hacked haha. Come on. Do they think we're idiots?"

Many others were left confused about the fact the animals are getting an animated series, because Juliette and Reese are not allowed to make money off the magpie after Molly was surrendered, only to be returned six weeks later following community uproar. However, it appears that any money being made off the show will be given to charity to get around that loophole.

Others were suspicious of the show's creators, with one user writing, "Nah, but the cartoon is literally what generates in the AI photo when you ask it to generate a cartoon staffy."

Peggy and Molly's Instagram account announced the animated series last week, sharing a post that read: "We are so excited to announce Xentrix studios are going to bring to life a wholesome heartwarming animated series about a kind-hearted, animal loving couple and their beautiful staffy girls , a magpie & their friends."

They added, "Created by imagination but inspired by the real-life bond between Peggy, an English Blue Staffy, and Molly, an Australian magpie, Ruby (Peggy's daughter) & friends. This animated TV series reimagines their charming and unexpected adventures together. The heartwarming tales highlight their unique friendship, showcasing their playful escapades & the special connection that bridges their differences."

While many of their followers were excited, one user wrote, "I understand that an opportunity like this is exciting, but with this company, you are supporting the very unethical practice of AI art. The fur texturing and rendering are inconsistent, the nostrils on pics 1 and 3 are starkly different. One of the dogs has an extra toe/growth. The buckles on the collars are incorrect. These are AI, and you're being scammed."

"Please don’t be AI. Hire actual artists if you’re going to make a movie. We artists are being put out of a job while a subpar program uses our own works to 'create' things," another added.

"Someone forgot to specify to the AI that it was supposed to be an Australian magpie 💀 how are so many people just cool with this," a third said.

In 2020, Wells and Mortensen took Molly home from a park without a licence and shared photos of it interacting with their dogs on Instagram. They then built a loyal following across several social media platforms, opened an online store selling calendars, shirts and prints, and secured a book deal with Penguin Random House.

The Department of Environment (DESI) said the bird was sent back after the pair agreed to several licensing demands including they cease making commercial gain from the bird or its image. The couple must also undertake wildlife carer training and ensure it receives “adequate care and enrichment”.

In a statement, DESI said independent veterinary advice concluded the magpie could not be released to the wild because it is “highly habituated and may have developmental issues”. It said the bird was returned to Wells and Mortensen in line with the Nature Conservation Act 1992.
