Kmart fans rave about $25 fix for most hated household task: 'Game changer'

Kmart fans are debating how good a $25 cleaning product is, with many raving online about how the small handheld device has upped their clothes game.

We all know ironing is an absolute punish, so much so that I personally haven't ironed a single piece of clothing since I accidentally burnt a hole in my favourite playsuit in 2017. That teaches me for trying to look good! These days I just iron out any creases with a hair straightener or wear them with pride, and that's just on being lazy.

But over at Kmart, shoppers have been debating if a cheap and handy $25 steam device is worth purchasing, with some people raving about it and others opting to go for a slightly more expensive version, citing a better result.

"Wondering if anyone has bought either of these steam irons and if you’re happy with it? Not sure whether to buy a normal iron or try the steam one," one person queried in a Facebook group, uploading images of a $25 compact garment steamer and a $39 one.

"I have the $25. It's great," one fan said. "It's perfect if you use it for one-two items at a time max. It's pretty small."

"Great little steamer perfect for a couple things, heats up so quickly and has been great for travelling," another said, as I thought about all the crumpled clothes I've just given up on and worn out for dinner when on holidays. Chic.

"Love this steamer. I have a full size one and I actually think this is just as good, and far easier to use! For the price, you definitely can't go wrong," someone else commented. "I was able to do three shirts (one being linen) and it worked beautifully on them."

TikTok users say compact steamer an absolute 'game-changer'

On TikTok, people have been all over the compact steamer for quite some time now, with one user uploading a review about it in 2023.

"This thing is a game-changer," TikTok user Kristy said. "It takes 30 seconds to heat up and you just use it as a steamer," she continued before showing off the impressive results.

Another TikTok user and stylist said the steamer was an absolute time-saver. "This will change your life," she said. "As a personal stylist I really recommend everyone purchase the hand-held steamer."

Another said they've found the steamer so useful they use it "almost daily".

"I have the $39 one and love it. I use it almost daily for my work shirts/blouses, skirts and dresses. Have had it almost two years and it hasn't skipped a beat," they commented.
