The half-hour, multi-camera comedy stars Tim Allen (Home Improvement, Last Man Standing) as Matt, the widowed owner of a classic car restoration shop, while Kat Dennings (2 Broke Girls) plays Riley, Matt’s estranged daughter who returns home with her two kids. Meanwhile Seann William Scott (American Pie) co-stars as Gabriel, a family friend who works at the shop with Matt… and, given the photo above, may have feelings for Riley? (See more here.) The series premieres Wednesday, Jan. 8, at 8/7c on ABC. 

American Primeval

“We would get snowed on and we’d have to stop shooting, lightning strikes close enough to stop, windstorms, dust storms,” American Primeval executive producer Peter Berg says of shooting the gritty period drama about the exploration of the American West. “Weather and mother nature were our biggest obstacles.” Betty Gilpin (GLOW) and Taylor Kitsch (Friday Night Lights) star. Host Alan Cumming goes full-on equestrian as he greets guests on the latest installment of his murder-mystery party/reality show. The relief Dexter gets from satisfying his urges is palpable in an upcoming episode, which finds the young Miami Metro employee tracking a killer that, per the official synopsis, “slipped through the cracks of the justice system.” (See more here.) Season 1 streams Fridays on Paramount+ With Showtime and on the cable network Sundays at 10/9c; this episode will begin streaming on Friday, Jan. 10, and will air on the cable network on Sunday, Jan. 12.

NCIS: Sydney Season 2

After a rough end to the show’s inaugural season, Season 2 will find Spencer (played by Brandon Sklenar) fighting his way back to Montana and Alex, his wife, whom he’s hoping to meet there. “He definitely encounters some strong resistance at pretty much every turn, and he deals with that the way he knows best,” Sklenar says. In Marvel’s Daredevil: Born AgainCharlie Cox (Marvel’s Daredevil) once again plays Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer with heightened abilities who continues his fight for justice through his bustling law firm; meanwhile, former mob boss Wilson Fisk (Marvel’s Daredevil‘s Vincent D’Onofrio) pursues his own political endeavors in New York. (See more here.) The series premieres Tuesday, March 4, on Disney+.

The back-half of the drama’s first season will see the return of horny widow Heather (played by country music icon Shania Twain) as she boards the boat for a second time after making quite the flirtatious splash during Singles Week. And from the looks of it, she still has her sights set on Don Johnson’s Massey. (See more here.) Season 1 resumes on Thursday, March 6, at 9/8c on ABC.

Douglas Is Cancelled

Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey) and Karen Gillan (Doctor Who) play co-anchors of a TV-news broadcast in the drama, which hails from Steven Moffat (SherlockDoctor Who) and, per the official logline, is “a timely series about gender politics and trial by social media.” (See more here.) The series will begin streaming on Thursday, March 6, on BritBox.

Four key characters will join the drama in Season 2: Nicole’s college-aged older brother Diego (played by Zack Calderon); Janet Hamilton (Jess Gabor), the ghost who hijacked Maddie’s body; a marching band member from the 2000s named Quinn (Ci Hang Ma) who died in the school’s infamous bus crash; and Yuri (Miles Elliot), a ghost from the 1970s who crosses paths with Charley.
