Travis Barker Teams Up With Another Unexpected Collaborator for Limited-Edition New Release
Travis Barker seems to have a running list of unexpected collaborators to make it through, and he's checking off another one.
Barely a week after hitting the stage with Jelly Roll to perform a crowd-winning Bob Seger cover, it was announced that a Nirvana cover album performed by the blink-182 drummer and Post Malone would be released for Record Store Day 2025.
The live album was actually recorded back in 2020, with Post performing from his Salt Lake City home during the COVID-19 pandemic for a YouTube livestream benefiting the UN Foundation’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund and the World Health Organization.
Net proceeds from the physical copies, dubbed Post Malone Tribute to Nirvana, will benefit MusiCares’s Addiction Recovery/Mental Health division.
In addition to Barker on the drums, Brian Lee played bass and Nick Mac played guitar on the live album.
The "Circles" singer also serves as the ambassador for Record Store Day this year, a bi-annual event that features special, limited-edition releases to benefit brick-and-mortar record shops.
"What an honor, I can’t believe I was chosen to be Record Store Day’s Ambassador for 2025," Post said at the time. "We love hitting local shops when we’re on the road, seeing all the crazy artwork, the whole energy in a record store is just super inspiring. I feel at home."
Post Malone Tribute to Nirvana will be available in person only at your participating local record shop on a first come, first serve basis on Saturday, April 12, with any leftover copies made available online the next day.
