Transparent Star Rails Against Amazon Boss Jeff Bezos for Bowing to Trump: ‘He Traded His Humanity for Power’

Jeff Bezos’ decision to attend the inauguration of President Donald Trump is not sitting well with one of the stars of Prime Video’s trailblazing series Transparent.

Amy Landecker, who starred as Sarah Pfefferman on the long-running family dramedy, rails against Bezos in an Instagram post that labels the Amazon founder/executive chairman a “roided out monster” who has turned his back on the transgender community.

“So, the guy who came to all the Transparent premieres and parties and had the cast to his home and told us how important the show was and that it was art, the guy who built his Prime Video with a show about gender and Jewish identity… That guy who was also married to this lovely woman who came to the Golden Globes without glam, just a beautiful, kind, smart woman…. That guy has now become a roided out monster who supports an administration committed to the annihilation of the trans community,” Landecker writes. “That guy now chooses to be with [fiancée Lauren Sánchez] a woman who is gunning for the Real Housewives of the White House and stands with [Administrator of the Department of Government Efficiency Elon Musk] a man who literally gave the Nazi salute today.

“If you think we liberals are overreacting, just look at how quickly he traded his humanity (if he ever really had any) for power,” Landecker says of Bezos. “We need to weep and wipe our tears and fight for the rights of ourselves and the people we love #TransIsBeautiful”

Bezos was one of several billionaire CEOs in attendance at Monday’s inauguration, where he was photographed alongside Musk, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg and Google’s Sundar Pichai. TVLine has reached out to Amazon for comment on Landecker’s remarks.

Landecker most recently appeared in the winter premiere of NBC’s Law & Order: SVU, while her post-Transparent résumé also includes Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale and Showtime’s Your Honor.
