The Voice Australia viewers beg Channel Seven to make big changes in 2025: 'So unfair'
With the semi-finals just days away, fans of The Voice are fed up - and they have some demands.
The Voice Australia 2024 semi-finals will take place this week, with the knockout and showdown rounds now done and dusted. Sunday night's episode saw some major moments, with LeAnn Rimes throwing the rule book out yet again, refusing to choose between duo Tori Darke and Brad Butcher and Letitia Butler and inviting them all to compete in the final Showdown.
Another moment that shocked and angered some fans was Guy Sebastian's decision to progress SKŸE all the way into the semi-finals, meaning that James Vass and Roland Williams were sent home. Viewers have previously suggested that the competition is 'rigged' and that SKŸE has been decided as the winner and Sunday's episode did nothing to quell these suspicions.
Fans of the show are now begging Channel Seven to make some major changes to the format for 2025, with one viewer taking to Facebook to outline her request.

Viewers beg for live voting to return
"Seriously, Channel 7, I have said this before - bring back the live shows...it is so unfair for the contestants when the judges have to pick," they wrote. "And we, as the viewers, 9 times out of 10 don't agree with their choices...but in saying that Leanne did make the right choices tonight.
"The old format that Channel 9 had was that they would sing live on Sunday nights so the viewers could vote overnight, then Monday night's the live show again with the results. I like Skye but God there are and we're so much better singers than him...please Channel 7 wake up and smell the roses and please change your format for next year and bring back the live shows because the way you have it at the moment is so unfair to us as viewers and the contestants especially when it comes to voting...everyone on this platform is saying the show is rigged and God I'm so beginning to believe them."
"Any musician, artist, singer proper judge or the public would mostly all agree that there is no possible way Skye was a better singer than James or Roland this isn’t a personal attack on Skye just simple facts on vocals, the show is rigged and favours unfortunate direction if you know what I mean," someone replied.
"I love Skye but Roland was and is so much better I didn't want to believe the talk that it's rigged, but starting to believe it is so disappointing. And agree to bring back the lives and voting," another added.
"They were both so talented. Again, I hope in future they get to Knockouts and then let the public decide who, from any team, goes to the finals. This way, the actual talents, regardless of which team, have equal opportunity. Lots of singers who were better end up going home because of these rules saying it needs to be two from each team," someone else said.
"Let the public vote. Roland and Jaydin deserve to be there James was also 200% better," another viewer commented.
Fans accuse The Voice of being 'rigged'
The outcry comes after fans took to social media earlier in the season to suggest the outcome of the 2024 competition was already decided.
The controversy first stemmed from a battle between Team Guy contestants Eden and Skÿe, who performed a hauntingly beautiful version of Yesterday by the Beatles. Despite both Guy Sebastian and Adam Lambert acknowledging that Skÿe's performance had been a tad flawed, Guy still chose to take him through to the knockout rounds, prompting a tirade on social media.
It also didn't take long before some viewers started suspecting foul play due to the fact Skÿe has been appearing in commercials for Afterpay since the 2024 season of The Voice started.

"They made it blatantly obvious they didn’t want anyone knowing about Eden’s feedback as it’s become clear now Guy has the proposed rigged winner," one viewer suggested. "Just his feedback and Adam’s fake slight negative critique make it clear the fix has begun."
"I think he wins it, cause there is nobody else doing ads and he does the Afterpay ad. I'm not saying he does but it's weird," another weighed in.
