The Voice viewers accuse competition of being 'rigged' due to telling detail: 'Blatantly obvious'
Fans of the The Voice Australia are less than happy after Guy Sebastian made a controversial decision.
The Voice Australia 2024 Battles continued on Sunday night, with more talented hopefuls going head to head to make it to the competition's Knockout round. The coaches are faced with the often heartbreaking task of who to send home from their team, with the other coaches having the option to save the unsuccessful singer.
Viewers have previously complained that Channel Seven has been cutting the performances short and not giving the right airtime to the contestants competing against each other to get into the next stage of the reality show. Many have called the battle rounds 'disappointing' with some contestants only shown singing for 'a couple of seconds' and other performances cut completely.
However, following Sunday's episode, fans had another big complaint - and some were even going as far as to accuse the singing competition of being "rigged."

Fans angry about Guy Sebastian's 'failure'
The controversy stemmed from the battle between Team Guy contestants Eden and Skÿe, who performed a hauntingly beautiful version of Yesterday by the Beatles.
Despite both Guy Sebastian and Adam Lambert acknowledging that Skÿe's performance had been a tad flawed, Guy still chose to take him through to the knockout rounds, prompting a tirade on social media.
"Guy’s an idiot for letting her slip through," one angry fan wrote on Facebook. "She could have won!"
"Eden should have been saved she was incredible," another viewer wrote.
"Eden was way better IMHO," someone else wrote on X.
"Eden won this by a mile!! A crystal clear voice, Eden is a SUPERSTAR!! Adam was 100% correct, Skÿe stayed in the same tone, so why didn't he save her 🤷," yet another viewer wrote on Instagram.
"Eden was clearly superior in her battle. I cannot believe that she got sent home," was another frustrated comment.
"Eden smashed that. She really hit that song with everything. Guy knows Skÿe wasn't great. I want to know why he didn't go with Eden. She's a real talent. Not often I'm ticked off with Guy, but tonight, he's failed.
Viewers suggest The Voice is 'rigged'
It also didn't take long before some viewers started suspecting foul play due to the fact Skÿe has been appearing in commercials for Afterpay since the 2024 season of The Voice started.
"They made it blatantly obvious they didn’t want anyone knowing about Eden’s feedback as it’s become clear now Guy has the proposed rigged winner," one viewer suggested. "Just his feedback and Adam’s fake slight negative critique make it clear the fix has begun."
"I think he wins it, cause there is nobody else doing ads and he does the Afterpay ad. I'm not saying he does but it's weird," another weighed in.
Kinda predictable since Skye is in ads for Afterpay #thevoiceau

"Why is Skÿe already in ads 🙈🙈 I hope that isn’t a clue," someone else wrote.
"So they have Skÿe doing ads on 7Plus during breaks and we have the show editing/removing feedback of his opponent (Eden). And he’s with Guy who’s swooning all over him like he did with Bella. Yep you guessed it - the fix is in," yet another person theorised.
Stars show support for Skÿe
Despite the controversy surrounding the intense battle, there were fans who loved Skÿe's performance and could understand why Guy had chosen him to progress.
"I do think Eden is a fantastic singer," one person said. "However Skÿe has such an original sound that he has a greater earning potential. I actually have him picked as the winner of the series."
Former winners of The Voice have also previously shared their support for Skÿe after his Blind Audition with 2021 champion Bella Taylor Smith commenting “WOOOOOHOOOOO” on social media.
Last year’s winner Tarryn Stokes, who was coached by Rita Ora, also said: “My gosh made me cry! So so heartfelt!”
Other viewers reacted to his Blind Audition - where he sang Billie Eilish's 'What Was I Made For?' - saying they had him tipped to win.

“Skÿe you honestly have one of the most beautiful voices I’ve heard,” one person wrote, while another added, “I’ll be voting for you. You have a voice that’s out of this world”.
“You have an amazing voice, you’re gonna win this,” someone else replied, followed by a different user who said, “I think you will win - Guy is your perfect coach”.
