The Project's Nick Cody shocks as he strips off live on-air: 'Oh my lord'

The comedian wanted to recreate Barry Keoghan’s naked dance scene from Saltburn.

The Project co-host Nick Cody surprised viewers on Wednesday night when he decided to strip off live on-air at the end of the show.

The comedian had joked earlier in the program that he would recreate Barry Keoghan’s infamous naked dance scene from Saltburn to celebrate the fact that Sarah Harris was interviewing Sophie Ellis-Bextor, whose song ‘Murder On The Dancefloor’ features in the film.

“I will recreate the final scene at the end of the show,” Nick remarked, to which Sarah replied, “Then we'll be immediately taken off air”.

The panellists continued to promote Nick’s ‘strip tease’ throughout the show, which finally happened as Hamish Macdonald was signing off.

“You did promise it,” he said. “Nick Cody, are you going to dance us out?”

“Do I have time?” Nick replied as he quickly stood up and began unbuttoning his shirt.

Sarah then began chanting “Take it off” in the style of The Masked Singer as Nick continued undoing his buttons.

“The Gladiators will get jealous,” he said when he got to the final button, before ripping his shirt open and flexing his biceps to applause from the audience.

'Oh my lord'

Following the wild on-air moment, a clip was shared on social media alongside the caption: “The Project is now news delivered partially nude.”

“Free the nipple,” one person wrote, while Nick’s breakfast radio producer Renee Buckingham said, “Oh my lord”.

Former Bachelor star Matty ‘J’ Johnson also commented a series of fire emojis, followed by someone else who said “Niiiice”.

Kate's bizarre kangaroo confession

Nick’s ‘strip tease’ comes shortly after fellow Project star Kate Langbroek surprised viewers when she admitted she was attracted to male kangaroos.

The bizarre topic of conversation came up after the panel discussed the mating habits of saltwater crocodiles and revealed that their “love language” is hissing, blowing bubbles and spouting water from their noses.

“You know what though? Kangaroos, male kangaroos, are extremely manly-looking and quite attractive,” she remarked.

The in-studio audience then applauded Kate’s candid admission, which left the other panellists baffled.

“Why are you clapping? Why is the audience clapping that?” Sam Taunton asked.

“Because people have seen them and they know they’re hot and they’ve got a six-pack,” Kate replied. “They’re amazing. And that picture of one just lying there like, ‘Come and get it, baby’, I’m like, ‘Ooh’.”

“Every crew member is wrapping us right now,” Sam joked.
