The Block fans share which teams they want to return for season 20
Viewers are divided over which cast members would be most likely to return.
The Block fans have revealed which teams they want to see return to the renovation series for its milestone twentieth season next year.
Yahoo Lifestyle exclusively revealed earlier this week that a team from this year’s season of the reality show is expected to be amongst the yet-to-be-announced 2024 cast.
An insider told us: “There is still some chatter about bringing back some celebrated contestants for the 20th season but applications are still open for newbies. So the rumour is it will be half newbies and half returnees.”
If this is true, it would be the fifth time The Block has brought back former contestants after All Stars in 2013, Fans v Faves in 2014, Triple Threat in 2015, and Fans v Faves in 2021.

Fans have since taken to social media to speculate on which season 19 team is most likely to return to The Block.
“Hope it’s Eliza and Liberty,” one person wrote, while another added, “Would love the girls again!”.
“Hope it’s Steph and Gian,” a third shared, followed by someone else who replied, “No they won enough money. It should be House 1, Leslie and her hubby [Kyle]”.
“Probably Kristy and Brett to redeem themselves,” a different user replied, with one fan agreeing there's a good chance it will be them because they didn’t win as much money as their competitors.
“I guarantee it's Leah and Ash,” another shared. “On auction night they didn't get anything (except the car and The Block wages). This will be the reason they bring them back.”
'Way too soon'
Meanwhile, some viewers argued it’s “way too soon” for anyone from this year’s cast to do the show again and suggested a handful of previous contestants to compete instead.
“They should bring back the four losing teams of 2022 they all put so much work in for little or no return,” a fan commented.
“I'd love Jenny and Dylan to return,” someone else responded. “They made nothing and didn't win a car. They are a beautiful couple like House 1 from 2022. Worked their butts off, kept out of any drama, built a beautiful home and all for nothing.”
"I hope they bring back some from past shows like Josh and Jenna, Kyal and Kara, the twins,” another said, followed by one person who wrote, “Wombat and his mate would be good”.
Others, however, said they would prefer to see an entirely new cast take on the challenge.
“Personally I would like to see five new couples that renovate without the drama,” a viewer replied.
"All new couples plz this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” another remarked, while a third shared, “For the love of god, can we go back to ordinary people [and] do renovations that ordinary people can relate to!”.
The Block 2024
The Block’s executive producer Julian Cress announced last week that the show’s milestone twentieth season will be filmed on Phillip Island, which is located 90 minutes south of Melbourne.
The island, which is well known for its colony of little penguins, is a popular tourist destination visited by 3.5 million people annually and has a permanent population of around 14,000.
The show was originally set to take place in the country Victorian town of Daylesford but was forced to relocate in September due to permit issues and complaints from locals.
Channel Nine recently confirmed at their annual Upfront event that Scott Cam will be returning to host the show, while Neale Whitaker announced on Instagram in July that he will be back as a full-time judge for season 20.
