He’s spent $16.65 million on four Block homes over the last two years, and now Adrian Portelli has seemingly confirmed that he will be bidding at this year’s auction. The billionaire and serial Block bidder attended the Domain Listing Challenge this week alongside fellow entrepreneur Danny Wallis, who has purchased a total of 11 properties on the show.

The pair were among a group of 100 prospective buyers checking out the teams’ houses and voting for their favourite, with the winning team receiving $50,000. While House 5’s Kristian and Mimi came second to House 3’s Ricky and Haydn by just one vote, the newlyweds received votes from both Adrian and Danny which were arguably more important in the grand scheme of things.

“Look, I personally like House 5 just because the floor plan’s a bit different to the others,” Adrian said about the two-storey property. “They’ve done a fantastic job.”

Danny added that House 5 was his favourite because “it’s bigger” and “the rooms are bigger”.

Kristian and Mimi were thrilled to have received Adrian and Danny’s tick of approval, with Mimi saying that the news was “huge”.

“Please have a bidding war,” she remarked in her piece-to-camera interview, while Kristian added, “Besides the $50,000 prize that House 3 got, I think that was probably the next best thing”.

Seeing as Adrian and Danny have purchased a combined total of 15 properties on The Block, the fact that they both voted for Kristian and Mimi’s house hints that they may plan on purchasing it at the upcoming auction.

However, it’s important to note that Adrian voted for Kristy and Brett’s house at last year’s Domain Listing Challenge but didn’t end up buying their property. Instead, he purchased Eliza and Liberty’s property for $4.3 million and Steph and Gian’s property for $5 million.

This comes after a source close to the reality show told Yahoo Lifestyle that it’s very likely Adrian will purchase all of the houses on this year's season of The Block for the exact same price.

“The houses will all sell for the one price and the well-established Adrian Portelli wants them all,” our insider shared. “He will definitely be in attendance at the auction in Phillip Island, most likely in his Lamborghini.

“Adrian has been very vocal during discussions with the producers and has also told his close friends he will be buying the entire resort for his LMCT+ website for up to $15 million. It will be the noisiest sale in Block history and that’s perfect for his business model.”

The billionaire entrepreneur first made an appearance on The Block in 2022 when he bid on Omar and Oz’s house and went on to purchase three properties last year, including winners Steph and Gian’s for a whopping $5 million. If he was to buy all five properties this year, it would mark the first time in the show’s 21-year history that a single buyer has done so.

Typically, Adrian gives the properties away in a raffle for his business LCMT+. He held the first giveaway for Steph and Gian’s house on Facebook Live on Christmas Eve, however, the winner ended up choosing to take the cash prize of $2.5 million tax-free over the $5 million property.

The house was finally given away in July when 42-year-old Bryan from Victoria was the lucky recipient of the re-raffle and chose to take the house over the cash.
