Teddy Swims Says Girlfriend Raiche Wright Has Been ‘Really Helpful’ in ‘Regulating My Little Nervous System’ (Exclusive)

Teddy Swims’ girlfriend, Raiche Wright, knows how to keep him from losing control.

At Selena Gomez’s Rare Impact Fund Benefit, Swims told PEOPLE that he has struggled with nightmares for a long time, and Wright has been “really helpful.”

“I wake up sometimes every 30 minutes, and she's been so wonderful and such a holistic person about, 'Here, take some magnesium or take some of this and that,'” the "Lose Control" singer said. “And it has just really helped me turn my... Calming my little... I guess, regulating my little nervous system.”

Swims added that his 2024 single “Bad Dreams” was inspired by Wright’s ability to soothe him at night.

The doting couple announced earlier this month that they are expecting a baby. The joint Instagram post included a photo of Swims and Wright lounging on the beach together, and the caption said, “We can’t wait to meet you baby 🤍✨.”

Swims and Wright were first spotted together at a Grammys party in February 2024, and, in May, Wright, who is also a singer, joined Swims on tour. Swims then confirmed their relationship in a July 2024 episode of The Kyle & Jackie O Show.

“She does what I do, which is great,” he said, referring to Wright's singing career. “Because it’s like maybe 3 a.m. and I’m calling her and she’s like ‘Yeah, yeah I’m in a session. I’m recording vocals.’ And I’m like, ‘Girl, yeah, handle your business, baby.’”

In November, after performing his hit love song “Lose Control,” with Thomas Rhett at the CMA Awards, Swims told PEOPLE, “I’m in love and I'm happy. Everything's just where it needs to be."

Swims' love-stricken attitude contrasts the fallout of his past romance with an unnamed ex-girlfriend that led to the painful lyrics of "The Door" on I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 1). Now with less heartbreak and more healing, Swims said fans can expect a little bit of everything on his upcoming album I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 2).

“There’s always going to be heartbreak and a little bit of everything, but it's not just only heartbreak this time around,” Swims continued. “There's songs to make love to, and there's songs to cry to."
