What Jennifer Aniston Says About Obama Affair Rumors
A theory that Barack Obama is romantically involved with actress Jennifer Aniston has resurfaced after rumors were sparked that the former president and his wife, Michelle, were headed for divorce.
The Obama split rumors intensified after Michelle let her husband fly solo to two major presidential events: Jimmy Carter’s funeral, and Donald Trump’s inauguration.
On Jimmy Kimmel in October, actress Aniston rejected the gossip after the late night host handed her an In Touch magazine with a cover that read: “The Truth About Jen & Barack.”
The magazine said that Michelle had felt betrayed after the Friends star had an affair with the former president.
“Of all the calls you get from your publicist where you’re just like ‘Oh, no, what’s it gonna be?’ or you get an email saying some cheesy tabloid is gonna make up a story—and then it’s that,” Aniston told Kimmel with a laugh. “I was not mad at it,” she continued, but, added, “That is absolutely untrue.”
The actress then went on to say that she had only met him once, and knew “Michelle more than him.”
The Obamas have been married for 33 years, and have two daughters together. Combined, it is speculated that the two hold a $70 million dollar net worth.
“Our marriage is a place where we can each be thoroughly, comfortably, often annoyingly ourselves,” Michelle wrote in her book The Light We Carry. “For us, it’s a solid certainty in a world where certainty seems hard to come by.”
In May 2024, Michelle’s mother, Marian Robinson, died. The former first lady referred to her as her “rock, always there for whatever I needed.”
“She was the same steady backstop for our entire family, and we are heartbroken to share she passed away,” Michelle wrote to Instagram at the time.
Just days ago, Barack attempted to squash the rumors about a potential split by posting a loving tribute to his wife on Instagram.
“Happy birthday to the love of my life, @MichelleObama,” he wrote, alongside a photo of the two holding hands at dinner.
“There’s no doubt I’m a better man having spent time with Michelle,” Barack said in 2013 to Vogue. “I would never say that Michelle’s a better woman, but I will say she’s a little more patient.”
Aniston, on the other hand, went through a divorce in 2018 with actor Justin Theroux after a three-year marriage.
Prior to that, the actress was married to Brad Pitt for five years, the infamous relationship ending in 2005 after cheating rumors with actress Angelina Jolie, who he ended up marrying in 2014.
Vanity Fair at the time wrote that Pitt denied the allegation and said the split wasn’t about “another woman,” but Hollywood raged at the idea of a cheating scandal between some of the biggest names in the industry.
“I will love [Brad] for the rest of my life. He’s a fantastic man,” Anniston told Vanity Fair at the time of their split. “The sad thing, for me, is the way it’s been reduced to a Hollywood cliché—or maybe it’s just a human cliché."
